I believe the uniform you are talking about, is the civilian on-car uniform. You'll wear it out in BC while working on-car during the OJT portion of the paramedic course. It's purpose is to help you blend in while you're working with other civilian paramedic professionals. (vice wearing the Cadpat)
BMQ's field portion was already lengthened, as Basic is 13 weeks now. (14 including week zero) That lengthening knocked SQ down to 4 weeks (from 10).
SQ is not a hard prerequisite for Med Tech's to do their QL3 trades training. It is a course we are "supposed" to have. However, a good chunk of...
Said PA students also like to "pick on" the newbie QL3 students in house... All in good fun of course! ;D
Have had some awesome laughs in the joint student canteen!
Thanks SMMM. :)
If either of you have any questions about the first half of the Med Tech 3's, I'll be happy to answer. (either here, or via PM) I start the paramedic portion in just over 2 weeks, so I can do my best to keep you up to date on the extended 6 month program as well, if you wish...
You have PO checks (Performance objective) in Basic training, if you do not complete the 13km it is considered a PO failure. You are allowed so many "failed PO's" before you are recoursed. So if the individual hasn't failed any PO's previously, or is below the allowed number (I forget what the...
A friend of mine is an MSEOp, and they don't have their full G1 license either. However, she said they didn't need it as all the vehicles she was driving on her course were all military veh's and as such only required 404's.
A recruiting requirement for Medical Technician is a full driver's...
When learning how to do medicals, in school over the past few months, there was never any mention of a skin test. (nor do I remember one from my recruiting medical when I enrolled)
I'm not sure what you're talking about. Were you told there would be a "skin test"?
We've been told that the hotel has set a separate room aside for us to use as a practice room, and that the school will be providing equipment to be stored in the room for us to use. That was one of the big concerns, that we would be too far away to go to the school to practice at night...
I can only imagine. But I suppose 6 months in a shack room with 5 room mates, or 6 months in a hotel with one room mate, both get old real fast. I'm hoping this will be a little better than the former. (which is the living conditions of those on the 3 month course currently)
Well it's been a good 14 weeks, and tomorrow I'll be finished my clinical portion of my QL3's. :) I've learned a ton, and have really enjoyed the course. I'm heading on leave for a few weeks now, before I head out to Beautiful BC for my 6 month PCP program. I'm excited and nervous to begin this...
I'll be doing my PCP portion of my QL3's out in BC at a civilian institute, but we will be wearing combats to school each day. (except for when we're on-car, and wearing the appropriate on-car uniform) So I don't think there's anything silly about wearing a military bag, with my military...
In St.Jean we had access to payphones pretty much every day, as there is at least one in each platoon's area. Use of them depends on his staff, but I would think you should hear from him before a month. Hope you her soon, and get the info you need.
We have a few here on course with a smiliar situation. Their spouse lives with parents, but pays rent to them. They drew up a lease agreement between the two of them, and the clerks had no problem with that here.
