My condolences to all, especially Colin bason's family. He was from my unit and platoon. i watched him grow from a recruit to MCpl. Sad times for all.
I believe that this will be the first casualty from the Vancouver area save Bdr Mansell from Victoria.
Rest in peace. :salute:
Well DLR was at our coy lines a couple weeks ago, they had a bunch of after market rigs to show the boys. They are also sending some chest rigs (50) for the coy to trial. Haven't heard anything about a new TV. basically, anything we have right now is considered 'trial' until we deploy. Guys can...
Well, after much anticipation I ordered the MOFOCR in Cadpat TW from CP Gear back in March. I wanted it before I reported for work-up training. I ended up getting the second one off the line! I managed to get it set up and had it ready for the field. We were out for approximately 5 weeks in...
Wait until they try explaining to the Afghan guards, that when a prisoner takes a guard - your friend and comrade - hostage, you can't just shoot the prisoner in the head: you have to stand by and watch him tortured while you negotiate with the prisoner's commitee.
- Watch us lose credibility...
Well i know what I will be using, and it won't be the TV. It would have to have some MAJOR changes for me to use it. As far as carrying too much, we carry what the bosses give us...enough stuff to do the job. That is why the ESSTAC BOAR and CP GEAR MOFOCR will be my two rigs.
I did a search, but my google fu is pretty bad!!! How are we carrying the pistol overseas? In KAF? PRT? The field? Cocked, on safe, one up the spout or hammer down, chamber empty? I know the obvious answer but want to know how theya re doing it in KAF and PRT.
Easy guys, you don't want to give them too many good ideas, they might go into brain overload!!!!!
Hey, add this to the mix: a guy gets everything in TW AND AR!!!!! Mind blowing, I know! Damn forward thinkers.
Teddy, I agree with that. I was referring more to the lower end of the chain, namely Bde/Unit. Yes we all put our names in for positions in Nov. We had to guive three choices, etc. What I mean is after all that, nothing. A bit frustrating.
I hear you buddy, just got told there are no Sgt positions for TF 1-08. All this after we have been told since last Nov (DAG), there will be positions for everyone. I am DAG'd GREEN and ready. Typical army BS again. On top of that, there has been absolutely no info coming into our unit until...
Well there is definately alot of choices out there. I would say your bext bet is to get something in Tan or AR. That being said, after a couple of weeks in the dust, everything will look tan!!! Personally I will buy in AR as it will tie into our uniforms more. Just my thoughts though.
Well, here is yet another gear review of some of the new offerings from CP Gear. I have to give a big acknowledgement out to Matt, he is really turning around CP Gear, bothe by way of their reputation as FMP makers and the quality and innovativeness of their kit.
Over the last few weeks, Matt...
Well I'll tell you, you guys are getting more info than we are (TF 1-08). All I know is that I am to report for Stream2 02 April in Shilo (I think). Nothing else is coming down the pike. ::)
MikeL - that's very interesting. I am deploying as part of 1-08, don't know in what capacity as of yet. We are not getting too much info about it. Looking at the CFTPO though, there doesn't seem to be too many jobs for inf sect comds. Anyway, what is the Bn attitude toward aftermarket kit?
