We have "birds" or "defaulters" rooms in nelles block esquimalt as well. I agree with all of you who say we are too slack, the navy seems to be way too tolerant.
My QL3 we didnt find out untill the last few weeks but other people in other trades seemed to find out much earlier in their course. No one really had any problems.
Unless you are a diver, if you are in the Navy and in the water, you are probably in deep trouble. Army guys probably do more swimming than the Navy guys :)

They let people in my BMQ remuster around the 4th or 5th week but there was a limited amount of trades available to remuster to. My advice is don't join unless you are interested in the trade you are signed up for.
I had the same thing last year (CFAT and fitness test in april/may, basic in November), there was no problem with the aptitude test however I had to redo my fitness test in October before I could go on to Basic. Apparently, the fitness test expires after 6 months.
You need level II to begin your QL3, level III to work as a NavComm. I have been in since last November and CSIS just started interviewing some of my contacts for the level III.
If you are going Reg force I don't recommend getting a new pair of glasses before basic as everyone on my course who wore glasses got new glasses the first week when went to the MIR the first week (For our shots, blood test and eye test). I believe it was paid for by the medical plan.
