    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Pay is better on the civvy side (110k$+), but with less posting options and variety in tasks. Definitely a good move on part of the CF, I had no clue what the job was before paying a visit to Trenton.

Vouch! :P Failed Pilot, and now I definitely want in for AEC.

Not much you can prepare for except maybe reviewing high school arithmetics.  It's multi-tasking and stuff. 3 hours of computer tests that test various innate skills.

    Aircrew Selection/ACS (Merged)

We started off Monday with AEC testing.  We did not do any ACSO tests.  I've since changed my trade choices and will have to get the ACSO test done soon at my local CFRC.

    My parents say no

Your parents are real *******s if they don't approve of you being a nurse in the military. That's likely one of the most honorable things one can do with their life. Do what you want to do with your life; you don't need ANYONE'S approval (well, legally only once you hit 18) Good luck, live...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Hey guys, just got back from Trenton. Failed ASC for Pilot, but freaking ACED for AEC. After touring the control tower and actually getting to know what an AEC does, it's actually a pretty cool trade! Lots of diversity in posting options, different fields of specialization, and you get to see...

    Aircrew Selection/ACS (Merged)

Just got back from ASC (Feb 4-8), and I have to agree with SF2, don't worry too much about it; just go and do exactly as the machine (CAPSS) tells you and try not to think too much. The stress is the only thing you need to deal with really. My experience didn't go so well. 4/13 passed. I...

Thanks again Gunshark, I'll do the absolute best I can to focus on the task at hand, emotionless. Solid advice right there. Got to keep my focus and stay cool!

Thanks Gunshark, your words bear more weight to me than anyone else here on the forum, as I know of your first-hand experience. I'll keep your words in mind when I leave on Sunday. Failing wouldn't be the end of the world too, heck I guess if I fail it's probably for the best. Not that I intend...

I'm just about to piss myself with anxiety over next weeks ASC. I mean, it's only the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT THING I will ever have done in my life.  Does anyone have good tips to help aleviate the stress? All input is much appreciated. :cdn:

Days working in the Reserve per months ?

Don't you know? Women look for men that are like their Daddy :P Edit: As a side-note, it's pretty easy to have a healthy life-style with all of the bursaries that schools offer. Check out with a councilor what you apply for. There are probably a lot more incentives than you know ;)

    Advice on quitting current job

Treat this as your mantra.  I work full time and have been training for 1-1.5h every morning before work and am definitely progressing. Training more than 10 hours per week would likely just damage your muscles and joints. Train less, keep your job, keep things interesting and, heck, put money...

    Packing for Basic [MERGED]

I agree that my post was of questionable taste. I couldn't fathom the idea of my point coming across as sexist and dumb, as well as derailing the topic entirely. I'm sorry about that. I'll be more mindful of what I post in the future.
