There is a lot to be said for a company just doing what they know, do right, and stay in their own lanes....

Because they are knowledgeable enough to say "Frig that boondoggle, we still have to operate here when it all falls apart", would be my guess.

Sometimes the problem with wanting to be the smartest person in the room is the obvious subtleties of sarcasm leave a mark as they get really close to the scalp when they fly over.😃 EDIT: though a sarcasm emogi on the site wouldn't hurt

If business riders are "paying for it" why is it being built with my taxes? Even more so, taxes from Northern Ontario westward?

The only way I afforded it was i bought old cheap games and learned to clean and fix them up. Then I'd sell a few and buy one better game to keep until I have the 20 games I own now. Not a chance I could have just gone out and bought them as is.

And the reason you don't see them out much is, for the most part, the machines are geared towards home use now. Gotta suck up a lot of loonies to cover the $11,000 cost of new, maintenance, revenue sharing with the space provider, etc

Actually its easier now then ever. Lots of companies making new parts, plus 3d printing for plastics, so although its still a niche hobby, it is growing like crazy. The big problem now is prices as demand is so high. The new Stern Pokémon had people selling their waiting spot for big...

And another one all cleaned up and made to look even better then when it was new. Just waiting on new updated roms, an NVram, and thinking of ordering a colour dmd for it......but $$$$$. Some of the best artwork in pinball.
