    1/35 MEWT Bison

Turned out ace! I'm intrigued by the cuda cam net process, its one of the best looking nets if seen, if only slightly over-scaled. Looking at your WIP photo...is that red tube some of the old Testors tube glue? I haven't seen that stuff since 1975! Please don't tell me you used that glue for...

Tamiya XF-67 NATO Green is pretty close. I like to tone down the greenieness with some XF-65 Field Grey (which is actually a green colour). They airbrush really well. But regular brush painting....not so much.

Coming along great! If I may suggest - you've already put so much into it, that you might want to get the current pattern wheels. I'm not sure if CF Bisons ever used the skinny tires the US used. But if the skinny ones are already firmly mounted, then you may want to just leave it as is. ...

the headlights you can make with these, which you might be able to locate at a Michael's crafty store. http://www.eksuccessbrands.com/sticko/Products/Shimmering_Silver_Dot_Stickers_52-20049.htm for the other optics, you can try a bag of foil confetti, which can usually be found in the party...

    1:35 Leopard 2A6M CAN

I've ordered from Elm City before, no dramas. The owner is a good guy. You can also get Vallejo in Ottawa at The Hobby Centre. I've never tried that paint on a full model; typically I just use it for detail painting like pioneer tools and SGL caps etc. I'm curious to hear how it goes on over...

    1:35 Leopard 2A6M CAN

Slat looks pretty decent to me...I don't envy having to paint the NATO-flage through those slats though. That cuda cam article is excellent. You'd swear this was 1:1 scale...

Another method is to take the clear sprue, chuck it in the dremel tool, and shape the bottle, neck, and cap, using a file or x-acto blade. Just have to keep the rpm's low. If you are using them for glo-stick holders, you can also drill a hole in the cap, and fill the hole with clear paint. When...

I need a line on that Easter Bunny. All I got was a hard boiled egg... and I think it had been left out overnight! You're G2G with that Leopard out-of-the-box. There's detail sets for it if you want to go for a later Afg version with cuda cam etc. Some guys have said the upper hull might need...

Centurion Twin Forty, HQ Sqn RCD, 1971.

Got it, thanks. I think I was confusing WW2 with more modern practices.

Centurion Twin Forty, HQ Sqn RCD, 1971.

Yep, it's a 1 April gag  :) @ George - I got the idea of making it RCAC vice RCA from WW2 where Tk Regt's had armoured AD such as Staghound AA and Crusader III AA. I'm not sure when the Armoured corps handed over AD fully to the Artillery...perhaps around the same time that SP A-Tk guns left...

Centurion Twin Forty, HQ Sqn RCD, 1971.

This model depicts the Centurion Air Defence version used for integral AD by the RCD's while they were in Germany as part of 4 CMBG. Each Armd Regt was equipped with one Sqn of AD with 16 gun systems in a Sqn. Purchased in conjuction with the Centurion MBT, the "Twin Forty" also went through...

    AVGP Cougar now out

Hey Mike! How are you? Well, my figures always end up looking like extras from The Walking Dead...so I try to avoid them when possible. This photo was my starting point: You get any riding in during the crazy warm week we had? I put almost 300km on the Ninja! Never imagined I would have it...

    BGen Rockingham's M8 Greyhound CP

I've been wanting to build something from the Korean War for some time, and found a grainy  B&W photo of BGen Rockingham's tactical CP (?) from Korea. I had the Tamiya M8 kit handy, so with one photo, I decided to try this conversion. Of course, once I had it painted, a friend provided me about...

    AVGP Cougar now out

Cupper - thanks for the insight. I had heard that it was definitely not SOP to use the Husky, but, the person said he had heard of it being done. What did we use in UNPROFOR for AVGP recovery? HL Wrecker? Coalition forces recovery from Div?

    AVGP Cougar now out

Had a little accident with my Cougar. I melted a tie rod and a strut, so the front wheel got some huge negative camber and toe in. Doh: Solution...shave down the wheel hub and make it look like there was accident The rim+tire get taken off, and I will see about building a Husky to tow the...

    M38A1 in 1/35th

You can get them here: http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=AF%2035S17 They also make a 106mm (?) RR version which I believe we also used in the Armour Defence platoons. They might need a bit of work to "Canadianize" them though.  Service publications prints a nice short primer on the...

    1/35 MEWT Bison

Whoa! That is seriously nice work! Is that the Arms Corps ASLAV-PC you are using as a base kit? Bison conversions are few & far between....this  one is going to be great. The guys here would like to see that, if you are interested in re-posting it: http://www.network54.com/Forum/169232/

Good luck my friend. I hope your hard work pays off, not just for you, but for all the other folks who bought in 07 and sold in 09-10.

    Woohoo. 1/35 LAV-III in styrene...

Well spotted. A big oversight on the part of the mould designer eh! Sadly, the AoA is moulded on and it would take a few hours of sanding to remove it. My other TUA I think is destined to be converted to a LAV-RWS, or a LAV-Ambulance (hey, it could happen)

    Woohoo. 1/35 LAV-III in styrene...

Nothing like a cross Canada posting and a new job to put a crimp in the hobby time. After just over a year, I finally got a chance to relax at hobby table. But a base coat of green on them, and knocked out a Cougar while I was at it...
