Don't forget you need to qualify for the trade you want by writing the CFAT (aptitude test). I'm not sure about the specifics for basic education - but getting your high school diploma could never hurt you. Go talk to the recruiters and see what they say. Hope everything works out for you!

I wouldn't stress too much, from what I understand they might not call all of your references. They only called one of mine and now my file is in for review awaiting confirmation for an interview. Keep checking in regularly and you'll get everything sorted eventually.

That's what I had to do. It won't let you enter future dates so I just put today's date. Don't spaz out about it, you are going to have to provide all of your documentation anyway. I didn't have any problems with it - I had my Diploma by the time they contacted me.

You have to talk to a recruiter for them and/or do one of their career presentations now. You can check on their recruiting website for contact numbers and presentations near you. Also, the process can be incredibly long and drawn out (before anyone goes crazy - I have done most of it before...

It is possible that your file is lost, I know several people who have had that happen, but it is also possible that Canada Post is taking longer than usual. "max 5 days", have you never received anything snail mail? I can tell you right now 5 day max is a bunch of hooey. Maybe double check...

I wouldn't worry about that either. There are plenty of Muslims in the Military. Islam itself is not anything to worry about, fanaticism, terrorism and prejudice are. Don't worry about being judged! The Military is full of people from all walks of life. Good Luck!!
