Same thing (almost ) happened in Yellowknife, the Area Commander wanted one. We bought one second hand from BC, a few of us installed it in the FOL..NORAD brass didn't like it, we tore it down installed it in a local gym, the school didn't like it, we tore it down reinstalled it at another gym...

I love any the complete figure of 8 family, just for ease and applications. However the Alberta Hitch-Originally designed for mine rescue- is a beautiful, albeit complicated, knot perfect for lowering casualties and horizontal applications (Cross Decking anyone) when all you have is 20 feet of rope.

Hey Cougar, A long time northerner here 1. what is the living accomodation like? If you're staying at the South Park, i mean south camp and in the past some have stayed there, the accommodation is A 5 out of 10 on a northern scale (I have pictures if you want them) if you're living in...

Just noticing the picture on the CBC and I noticed the number on the aircraft, 806, http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/story/2011/05/26/ns-mackay-defence-jobs.html. I guess the question is this, is it normal to have the same number or 2 different AC?  I'm thinking 806 is also the tail...
