Army Cadet Dress Regs updated 46-01

I have a girl who's 4 so I guess that I'll have to wait and see. ;D  Perhaps there is still a chance that she will become Daddy's girl. On topic though, I like many of the changes.  I especially like the fact that Cadet Jacket is specifically mentioned for highland cadets.  It was always...

Army Cadet Dress Regs updated 46-01

The training still happens today, with some rules, but cadets love that training. QM couldn't have been that bad............since you are still doing it.

Army Cadet Dress Regs updated 46-01

WRT belt buckles, if anything, Cadets are going back to their roots. Prior to unification, Army Cadets, in particular, wore one of two possible symbols:  Royal Canadian Army Cadets or Affiliated Unit.  Unification, some say, left Cadets in a very grey area (this actually did happen to the...

Army Cadet Dress Regs updated 46-01

Thanks Vern. I'll need to check out our supply later this afternoon, though I believe that we will just break down and buy some CFMS buckles.  They look much better, IMHO.

Great points Vern.  Clears up the regimental belt buckle problem. The tri-service buckles, does the cornflake not come off?  A blank buckle is better than no buckle.

Gun Runner, There are some new Army Cadet CATOs out which will help you understand the thinking behind the CPU and give you a sense of direction. http://www.cadets.ca/support/cato-oaic/intro_e.asp?vol=6

Army Cadet Dress Regs updated 46-01

I was thinking that this would be the best way to go.  All CF regiments/branches already have an authorized ceremonial buckle...........correct?

Glad to see that we finally have something that is extremely clear and makes no exceptions.

Going back to your original post, which started this side tracked conversation, you said http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/78740/post-744935.html#msg744935 This statement is in fact false.  Unit affiliation is dependant on the respective QR&O (Cadets) and the CATOs.  Unit affiliation takes...

    new cadet courseware

You're welcome. What Region are you in?  You may want to try to get to a CO's Conference, or perhaps a Trg Conference to go over some of the new allocation of funding and what-not.  It will also give you a chance to speak directly with people who may actually be in the same boat as you.

Yes and no.  Trying to compare affiliations between the elements is extemely difficult.  Even within an element it appears to be difficult. Now please understand that I mean no disrespect here, but I have to ask:  Are you coming to this conclusion based on support issues of Cadet Units?  I am...

Absolutely correct!  and Neill is correct as well. The badge worn by the cadets (in the case of army) and that of the affiliated unit do not have to be the same either.  Very confusing isn't it?!?

    Cadet Instructor Cadre Centennial

Ratcather, you raise a good point and personally, I believe that everyone who has worked with the CCO should be involved in some capacity.  Cadets and CIC officers have participated in many of the other regimental/branch anniversaries in the past and I only see it as fair.

One valuable resource is www.armycadethistory.com .  The site is owned by the Army Cadet League of Canada.

Gosh.  All that I am doing is contributing, not arguing.

Not really Vern.  There are far better resources out there.  Sometimes, all it takes is a 30 second phone call.  The majority of Army Cadet Corps in NL are affiliated to the Royal Newfoundland Regiment.  Other affiliations are 727 Comm Sqn, 728 Comm Sqn and 56 Service Battallion.  There were 5...

CIC Physical Fitness Standards - Split from Transfer from PRes to CIC

Then we have DAOD 5023-1 (dated 2006) which again makes the "to meet the minimum operational standards if attached, seconded or transferred on consent to the Reg F or P Res" statement.  This outdates the CANFORGEN. Should it happen, probably no. Does it happen, yes.  A friend of mine...

Gee thanks. I had already done that before I asked the question ;) Traditionally, affiliation is an Army Cadet thing, though there are cases of affiliation in both the Sea and Air Cadets.  IAW the respective QR&O (Cadets) and CATOs, affiliation is not required.  To the best of my knowledge...
