    Information on C9 Foregrips

Looking for something like this? Take a look here: www.dsarms.com Just google FN MINIMI, M249 SAW, Fore Grip, Vertical Grip, Accessories, Rails. Another option; the gunners from my section for tour went over to the weapons techs and had them jinky-jank something up from an old C9 hand...

    SUBJECT TO CHANGE!

Heh... Its all good.  I chuckle at it too sometimes. Yup... mine was supposed to be 6 months... lasted 3 weeks... the rest of the boys were there for almost 9 months...  I would say I "dodged a bullet", but... yeah... not so much. Still subject to change.

I would pay to do a tour doing that job...  :)

    New Rucksack

Not to be facetious, but is not the point of tactical load baring equipment that it be usable in an operational environment effectively?  It was made for operations, correct? The Department of National Defence spent a ridiculous, almost obscene, amount of money to develop, produce and...

Soldier Body Armour - FPV, BRP, shoulder pads & throat protectors (Merged Thread)

Some have resorted to having MOLLE/PALs sewn onto the existing Ballistic Vest... but I would advise reading some of the posts here regarding the downsides to having a MOLLE BV; specifically the necessity to remove load bearing gear occasionally without removing the BV itself... but there are...

    Most dreadful PT experience

I have a tie between two PT sessions; 1) QL3, LFCATC Meaford (1999). Some band showed up at the JRs mess about half way through the course, and although we really didn't deserve the time off, the CoC felt it only fair that we be allowed to attend.  The majority of my course were 19+ (weekend...

    A Life Revealed: National Geographic

I stumbled across this on digg.com today...  I remember finding the original picture and reading the original story behind it while researching Afghanistan before deploying. The original photo and story were pretty captivating. This article is equally captivating... worth a read. A Life...

WO Brown, Cpl. Fortin and Cpl. O'Quinn Killed by IED-03 March 09

Agreed.  The strength of an army isn't just the troops in the field, but the families at home as well... She truly represents the strength and resolve of our soldiers and their families. Her interview was both touching and inspiring... for both myself and my wife.  :salute: RIP brothers.

Dealing with being home from Kandahar

Yeah... After a 2 hour delay on the tarmac in Punta Cana.  There was a delay due to an unregistered aircraft, with no radio, flying in the airports air space (or so the Captain told us), then they baggage handlers forgot to load an entire trolley of luggage... As the captain is telling us this...

Dealing with being home from Kandahar

Hola! The flight to Toronto only takes about 3.5 h, and since I get motion sickness, I tend to pound the Gravol and sleep... that is my default setting for motion sickness; sleep.  That's how I spent a lot of patrols in the back of the LAV... passed out. The airport is cool... I'm actually...

Dealing with being home from Kandahar

We're actually just on our way back (leaving the resort in 30 min).  As for the drinks; I hear ya... before I can even finish "Dos Bahama Mamas, por favor" there are 2 drinks in front of me and 2 more being made...  Lets just say, they're sorry it's all inclusive.  I'm a big lad, and I can put...

Dealing with being home from Kandahar

I have no problem doing an interview, but I need some info and I need to pass it up my chain of command (standard policy)... send me a PM with all the details. I'm sorry if I take a while to respond; I'm currently in the Dominican (vacation). BTW:  I just noticed this emoticon  :piper: ...

    KRISS Super V SMG

So, I'm watching CSI NY today (nothing else on in the middle of the day) and they're discussing this Accurate SMG called the KRISS Super V (used in a bank robbery)... and I'm thinking; 'wow, CSI has gotten so wanting for substance that they're resorting to making up weapons to fit the story.' ...

    Pouches

I'm just a picky kit-slut.  I like things to match.  Besides, you can see the panel when you have only a holster attached to it. As for the chest rigs and such; I found my HSGI Denali was good to go for quick roll-up ops, but, you're right, for patrols, it's kinda front-bulky... that's why...

    Pouches

I'm looking for something like this; BDS Tactical Modular Stacker 4 308 Magazine Pouch But in CADPAT. I'm also looking for 45 degree and 90 degree panels in CADPAT If anyone knows where to get this stuff, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Pouches

Yeah... I'd suggest looking on DS Tactical... they have a good selection. Good luck... I've been looking for the same thing for a while.  Basically, the only option you have is a Mag Shingle if you want MOLLE on the sides and front... which means no flap.  And it's tricky finding the perfect...

    Pouches

I'm a fan of HSGI gear (specifically their Utility pouch)...  I'm not entirely sold on any specific mag pouch, 'cause I'm picky, but they're all generally the same... they hold mags...  ;) What, specifically, are you setting up your rig for; rifleman, M203, C9?

We live in an amazing, amazing world

The trues is painful and funny.  Good post. I had a similar epiphany while in Afghanistan when fellow troops (including myself) complained about the slow speed of the internet connection while out at PB Wilson...  in a country where most people live in mud-wall huts...
