    Occupational Transfer Head Butt

Like Aviator said, we need to know if you are trying for Continuing Occupation Transfer (apply anytime) or Annual Voluntary Occupational Transfer (need the CANFORGEN).  If the latter, you need to wait for the message because the occupation you want may not be available that year. Your area BPSO...

    Trades Acceptable for Pilot Transfer

Yeah I just noticed it on my MPRR, which is interesting because I'm a long way from wings - somebody transposed my change of uniform date to my wings grad date.  I've had wings for a year and didn't even know it! Should probably get that straightened out, although it's a nice fantasy seeing RR...

CEOTP (Continuing Ed Officer Trg Plan) 2003-2018 [Merged]

I worded that awkwardly.  They have to work in a system that is not really set up to handle them so their lives can be very difficult.  They have to complete multiple phases of career development simultaneously and more often than not have to focus on one more than the other, leaving nobody...

CEOTP (Continuing Ed Officer Trg Plan) 2003-2018 [Merged]

I would urge caution and talk to people actually in the CEOTP stream before pulling the trigger on an application.  It is not the preferred option for the CF and candidates are often treated accordingly (second class citizens).  I know and interact with number of them in different occupations...

Advice on current application to RMC?

Keep in mid the interview is not entirely objective, as a lot of scoring is at the discretion of the interviewing officer.  You might not have been granted points in your interview that might have been granted given a different officer - those few points could have made the difference. I was in...

University Training Plan NCM (UTPNCM) 2005 - 2018 [Merged]

Yeah and I really doubt registration for Fall is open in too many locations (if any).  Final exams just finished.  My school hasn't even published the Fall academic calendar. I would guess you are assigned a registration date by your school, before which you can't register anyway.  That's how...

CT -- Reserves into ROTP/RMC (merged)

Just do what D Mil C said.  The message will come, and it will have the effective dates and say they want an acceptance message NLT that date.  As others have said, it's normally 1 July so you have lots of time. Defence Academy's budget was hit pretty hard, so they cut out sending people to St...

CT -- Reserves into ROTP/RMC (merged)

I went through the UTPNCM thing last year and was left almost completely in the dark except for these forums. Have you accepted the offer?  As in, a message has been sent to Ottawa in reply to their offer?  If so, you can now get your unit to request a PLAR from CDA for bypassing BMOQ.  Once...

Nanaimo Mounties end hunt for throat-slasher

You've quite obviously never been to Nanaimo.  The people who vote live in the north end with their mcmansions, big box stores, and pave-it-all attitude.  Oh, and massive grow ops.  Guess who they vote for? Where the kid got slashed, the south end, the people are way too busy committing...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Well, reg force types (like me) get to keep their previous NCM pay.  The process for reservists is different, but it would be a kick in the ass to take that kind of pay cut.  I can't give you a completely positive answer so more investigation is required on your part. As for the second part, if...

    Wearing Uniform in Public (Cadets)

The guy in Nanaimo was almost certainly slashed by a meth/crackhead who probably has not got a well articulated political position. There aren't too many "left wing nutcases" in that city anyhow.  I'm a left wing nutcase myself and like others of my ilk prefer Victoria, where I regularly wear my...

Graduate Studies / Master Degree / PhD [MERGED]

I've seen it too, very recently.  I don't know the circumstances, but this individual went from UTPNCM undergrad to some other program post-grad immediately, without being employed (or presumably qualified) in occupation.  The particular post graduate program this person went into seems...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

The yellow bit is my somewhat educated guess - I didn't take BC math 12 and ended up at civ U.  And I'll agree with Dimsum, it's a pretty damn good deal.  You might miss out on plugging into the social network at RMC, but Rick Hillier went to a civilian school so I'm personally not too put out...

    Aerospace Control Officers-AEC [merged]

"Above average" means your potential for achievement, based on your CFAT score, compared to the general officer population's CFAT scores (and presumably their later career achievement compared to their CFATs).  The best possible categorization is "superior," which I believe is the next step up...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Nine credits at university typically means three courses (depending on the school).  A full year at university is normally worth 10 courses (30 credits) depending on the program, it could easily be more.  Also, "university" credits earned in high school are often not recognized - the...

    Remuster via NCM-SEP?

Thanks for that, here's a www link to the CANFORGEN.  Dental tech is on it.

    Remuster via NCM-SEP?

It must be possible - I know a stoker who quite recently did exactly the same thing (to dental tech).  I have also seen competition messages for in-service NCM-SEP selection.  Check out your local BPSO's website to have look for old messages, and also contact them for more info.

Re: Disability on course - BMQ, QL, Trades, ect...[MERGED]

But it would be so much fun.  Suffice to say it's much more complicated than that - "night blindness" is easy to screen out.

Re: Disability on course - BMQ, QL, Trades, ect...[MERGED]

Wrong. I and 3 others on my aircrew selection had it, and I'm sure more than a few others have made it all the way through the training system by now.  The policy changed in 2008.
