A campaign against child obesity! Finally! http://activeforlife.ca/

During an A-EMCA exam (paramedic licensing exam) review course I was sitting in at yesterday, the instructor showed a statistic that says by 2013, diabetes will surpass AIDS as the biggest epidemic in North America. I am unable to find/remember the exact source now, but a simple google search...

Civilians complaining about Police/Emergency Services' Pay

There is no media conspiracy to "sensationalize" when an officer / firefighter / or medic messes up on the job.  It's just the plain fact that someone doing the job they are supposed to do isn't news, when they do something outside of their normal job description is. The unfortunate thing is...

Mechanical engineering degree, no prior military experience.

Read around some of the other topics, some people's process may be shorter than six months or considerably longer.  There are examples of both extremes in this very section of the forum.

As said a simple call to the bank would have straightened that out.  My girlfriend works for a bank and she reverses charges for people all the time, even when they don't deserve it (as in it was their own fault they were charged in the first place).  Not saying RBC would reverse the charges...

Mechanical engineering degree, no prior military experience.

Best advice I got back when I was going through the process that I can pass to you is to try anything and everything you can to set yourself apart from other candidates.  The process can be very competitive in terms of number of applicants vs. number of open spots so anything you can add to that...

    Online or in-person ??

Fair enough, but bottom line is it still won't get you a job offer any faster until you complete the process, which includes doing all your testing and interview, as well as trade availabilities.  Good luck with your process.

    Online or in-person ??

What's your point? You will still need to come in person at some point regardless of sending in your documents and application electronically.

    Online or in-person ??

Also, at some point you will still have to go into a RC to sign the paperwork, as well as to do the testing and interview.

Recruiting center Physical Test in Mississauga

It is still a serious commitment that you should not take so lightly.  Referring to "it" as "only" a reserve commitment shows you may not be fully aware of what your applying for. Obviously not.  These are not "symbolic" words or gestures.  The Head of the government is the Queen.  That old...

    Question about joining

Last I heard, and I'm not a recruiter, but imagery technician is no longer a direct entry trade, meaning you have to be in the CF already then switch trades to imagery tech.  Best to check with your local CFRC.

::) Canada is a Constitutional Monarchy.  You also must swear allegiance to the crown when you join.  And most, if not all units, carry on traditions that trace back to serivce of the crown.  There seems to be a lot of this feeling on the threads today.
