There's alot of policy issues regarding letting personal devices connect, process and store corporate information. It's the same issues that prevent your home computer from being allowed to connect to the outlook webapp on DWAN. It's technically a easy thing to do, but there's alot of security...

Home Equity Assistance & "Military Families Pushed to Financial Ruin" (Merge)

Most of these problems can be solved by just not buying a house. If your concerns are regard to the large losses that occur with the ebb and flow of the real estate market then the simple solution is to not put so much of your networth into one investment category (ie Real Estate) and rent...

    Comm Research

It's the same in most trades. It's sad but the training system is so far behind that people wait months and months to get clearances or to get put on training courses. Keep asking through your chain of command (whomever is directly responsible for you right now).

Posting Policy-Restricted (IR) & Prohibited moves [MERGED]

Generally a bedroom has a closet and a window. If it lacks either of those, I think then it's technically a den. From looking at rental properties, you can't call something a bedroom unless it has a proper egress window (ie designed that a person could escape from it in an emergency)

Special Commissioning Plan ( SCP )

Its based on the SCP applications being due for submission in the summer (ie may/june 2014) and it almost being May 2015. If the guy had submitted an application, it would be almost a year now.

Special Commissioning Plan ( SCP )

Sounds to me like he's already waited a year. I know this is the norm, but still, a year is a long time for a selection process.

Troop WO isn't really a manager. The Troop WO, to be technically speaking, isn't really in charge of that many people. Section commanders are the supervisors for most of the personnel in the troop, and they report to a platoon commander. The troop or platoon WO is generally the person in charge...

My favorite is creating a giant EMSEC zone and instituting a blanket ban for cellphones, then saying work blackberries and those Motorola duty flipphones are exempted.

Part of it is a mentality thing. We pay Cpls and MCpls between $50k and $60k, they receive what I would call excellent training, on par with that in the private sector (speaking as an IST). Yet MWOs and WOs and to a less extent, Sgts refuse to allow them to use professional judgement. Like what...

I heard we're all getting spec 0 and Lamborghinis. ACISS Core gets Hurricans while CST/IST get Aventadors.

Drug use/drug testing in the CF (merged)

Maybe, but then again from my experience with new Ptes coming in, the older guys are definitely more mature and more reliable. Not a hard and fast rule but definitely a trend.

If EOtechs are millwrights than I'm an Intel computer engineer. My father is/was a millwright and literally works on everything from electrical to construction to pumps to aircraft engines.

    1. a)In the reserves you can join a communications (Signals) unit in your local area, for instance, 32 Sig Regt Toronto. You can work there as long as you are part of the reserves. Keep in mind your training courses will require you to take courses up to 2 months full time in length in other...

    PERs : All issues questions...2003-2019

Maybe not receiving a PDR isn't a guaranteed win with the Grievance Authority but it definitely works in the persons favor. First, with no initial then the benchmark you are judging them against isn't there. Essentially you haven't told them what their job consists of, so how can you say they...

AN/PRC-522 Manpack long wire antenna ?

Those of us in the civilized world use the λ(m)=300/ƒ(MHz) Much cleaner, 1/2 wave is 150/ƒ, 1/4 wave is 75/ƒ Plus metric is what you need to use if you are going to start to delve into the science of radio.
