    Storing Fire Arms During ROTP

You could try International Shooting Supplies in Surrey. I trust these guys with my guns. Mind you, its been about two years since I last used their services. As for the CF paying the storage fee, I had read the same thing on the Forces website. I don't know if that will extend to firearms.

    Storing Fire Arms During ROTP

Your best bet would be to store them with a firearms dealer. A number of dealers offer this service for a fee. This is what I do whenever I am out of station for an extended period. The dealer I leave my guns with charges me at the rate of a dollar a day per gun.

    Processing window for new applicants

Hello, Recruiting centre staff are quite considerate, however they have their own operational limitations. The times that I have been to the RC, I have seen folk come in who were booked for their CFAT, medical and interview - all in the same day. I suggest that once the RC contacts you, let...

WHEN IS the next Naval Officer Assessment Board (NOAB) ?

The recruiter told me that there was a high likelyhood of the trades which have a green check mark to open in the next fiscal. He also said to check every week, because as soon as they are given firm numbers from HQ, they are going to start accepting/ reopening applications for those positions.

WHEN IS the next Naval Officer Assessment Board (NOAB) ?

Hello, The RC that I am in contact with tells me that the job openings shown in the CF website are mostly for ROTP candidates. (This was told to me in December last year before they closed for the holiday season). As far as the NOAB is concerned, it may be that the Navy is taking a different...

BMQ / BMOQ - Personal Electronics during course [MERGED]

GnyHwy, I couldn't agree more. Especially what you said about electronic gadgets being a distraction even when turned off. The fact that only the task at hand should be on their minds, can take some people a while to grasp. More so, when the distractions are not out of bounds. Cheers, AGB.

BMQ / BMOQ - Personal Electronics during course [MERGED]

This is entirely my own opinion, but I can't helping considering those Recruits/ Officer Cadets who VR simply because of limited access to the outside world as being misfits for the military. Everyone enrolling into the military knows (or should know) that they can be deployed overseas for...

    Application process.

My experience has been that they will get you to resubmit all the forms. That will be followed by another round of Reliability Screening, employment and credit check, medical and interview. And if Security Screening is deemed as needed (even if it was done earlier, they will ask you to resubmit...

    Application process.

Hello michael88, Your application process has not taken long at all. I have been in the process since January, 2009. I thought that was a long time, until I read posts from people who've been waiting longer. If you're told that a Pre Enrollment Security Clearance is required, then be prepared...

    DEO Interview Process

It has been correctly pointed out that appearing for an interview as a potential officer can not be equated with job interviews in other sectors of the economy. This is not an entry level job, but regardless of the position, any trade in the military requires working with classified information...

    Artillery Officer Merged Thread

Hello, I have a couple of similar questions, if someone can please shed some light on these - 1. During Phase IV - does one get an opportunity to chose between becoming a Field Artillery Officer or an AD Officer? Or is there some sort of a selection done to determine suitability for either...

Signing up as an aerospace engineer PLEASE HELP!!!

Hello floyd, Whatever you're asking has been covered numerous times in this forum. However, I will try my best to point you in the correct direction. Please be aware though, that I am not in the CF. I am just an applicant who has been in the process for nearly three years. 1. Interview -...

    BMOQ - September 2011

Hi there, Good to know that you're doing well. Quick question - right now I'm at stage 8 of the 20 MSR, 30 (text book) push ups, 50 sit ups and 10 over hand chin ups. I know that there is always room for improvement. But being a slightly older guy, I'm a little anxious about my numbers and the...

Role of Officer vs job of NCM [Merged]

This is really strange... If more than one recruiting staff have told you that degree awarded from foreign universities are not accepted for MARS, then there must surely be some new directive. Maybe the recruiting folks did not mention it to me because right now this trade is closed.

Role of Officer vs job of NCM [Merged]

MARS is also one of my occupation choices. I am a new Canadian and all my education was done abroad. However, none of the recruiting staff have told me that I was not eligible for MARS. When I had first gone to the CFRC, the recruiter asked if I had got my degrees evaluated for Canadian...

Considering joining reserves but I have some medical and ethics concerns

Hello GleepGlop, As far as deployment (oversees) is concerned - reservists can be compulsorily deployed too, but this requires an act to be passed by Parliament first. This was told to my wife by a recruiter when she was applying. So, there does exist the possibility of being sent oversees...

    Quick Question .

As per what has been told to me by recruiting staff - the decision as to if an applicant needs Pre Enrolment Security Clearance is taken by the Deputy Provost Marshall Security office in Ottawa. If you have lived in Canada for less than 10 years, have family living abroad or have been out of...
