What do you do for a workout??

I've just been following the routine from the "Army Fitness Manual".  I've been on it for about 5 weeks now.  I like it because It has several options to break up the routine and keep it interesting.  I like how it seems to focus more on fitness and endurance rather than looking like a Calvin...

    Designating Weapon Handlers

Is there still a machine gunner's course?  That is something I always thought about doing once I get in.

    Truth Duty Valour - Apologies

Hey I remember "Forbidden Places".  I still have scenes of the clearance diver course etched in my memory.  It did kinda just disappear though eh?

    Medical Take #2

Good luck bud, for the record, my second medical only took two weeks to come back.  Last time was a different story, very much like BDTyre's.

    Kicking the habit

Is Zyban recognized by the CF?  I'm at the final stage of my recruiting process and don't want to start taking it in case I jeopardize my "medical suitability".  I heard somewhere that Zyban is just an anti-depressant.  Anyone?  Thanks.

    Videogames and the Army?

Is that just 1 RCR?  Or is it a Regimental "training aid?"  I can't help but chuckle that at the fact that I'm getting such a hard time at the CFRC trying to join, just to get in and play Ghost Recon 2 (which I don't mind at all).  Obviously there is harder work to be done, but man, how am I...

I tape them if I can't catch it.  Looking forward to tonight though.  I'm going to tape it so I can watch it over and over again.

    Absent training partner.....

No worries about the Arseholiness, Putz, it's all good.  Personally I still have to disagree with you about having a spotter though.  I don't know about you but I can't afford to spend my $$$ going to the gym.  I saved my pennies and bought a bench and some free weights.  Having a spotter to me...

    Absent training partner.....

Do you lift weights?  Lots of weight?  Trust me, motivation is not a problem.  Discman, great for running I agree.  But for weight training, you need a buddy to at least act as a spotter.

    Jump through the hoops!

Get over it man, it's going to take a while for you, just like it does for everyone else.  Hurry up and wait.  I'm sure you have seen it before.  It'll get worse before it gets better.  But it will get better if you stick with it.

    Absent training partner.....

Well, I don't have a solution, but for sure I'm in the same boat as you.  It sucks because I'm doing a lot of weight training, and it is good to have someone there to keep my form properly and to "encourage" me to pop off that last couple reps.  Not to mention the safety factor.  Good luck man.

Don't know if it's fitting.. but would it maybe be easier to film a cadet parade or something?  Just a thought.

join reserves or go to whitehorse ??? HELP!!!!!!!

Do staff, as someone said earlier.. The regiment will be there when you get back.  Don't worry about the uniform they give you.  See the country, make some coin and gain the leadership experience.  I also think there might be some kind of bonus or something if you do staff.  I seem to remember...

    Canadian Rucksacks

This reminds me,  during one of our equipment rigging classes, our section commander mentiond something along these lines as well.  He was telling us how he jumped a "trial" ruck the weekend before our course.  Not sure if this is the one.

Marks / Grades: School / GED or PLAR [MERGED]

Buddy, I just said I only have 12 academic credits + 3 maturity credits.  It's kind of a technicality because half the time they say 15 credits, and the other half the time they say Grade 10.  It's not the honourable way to get in, but it is possible.  I'm glad to say that I'll have my GED...
