I was released 3B myself and am in the process of trying to get back in. I've done the CFAT, medical and interview. My file is currently in the hands of a medical officer in Ottawa for them to review. The SGT at CFRC Ottawa walked it over with another file and said it takes about one week or...
I didn't know they could close a specific element. Who knows though.
Well, let's just say that even though my father was Navy for 20+ years, I didn't receive any of his love for open water. :)
Ewww, Navy?
Just kidding, my father was a Navy cook for over 20-years. I applied, got RSBP, but as an Air Force RMS. Did the Infantry thing for 10-years, was enough. :)
Well, my CFRC Med Tech has to fax my doctor's forms and prescription to Borden for them to look over. Cpl at the centre said it takes about 2-weeks to hear back so Im hoping she faxed them today because they are closed tomorrow. I was told I'm by-passing BMQ so I would either be sent to Borden...
The thing is, at least for the CFRC Ottawa, is that they wouldn't even let me apply since the trade I wanted wasn't open. I applied online because they take all applications and hold them until the trade you want is open. Then they forward it to your nearest CFRC.
Personally I didn't have to provide any reference letters; just references that they provide to the agency who does the actual calling.
For my own file, once it was complete at North Bay they then sent it by Purolator (slowly I might add as it took days) to CFRC Ottawa. I called them a couple...
I'm not a recruiter but as far as I know the CFAT is valid for quite a long time, maybe more than 10yrs, not too sure. The medical should also be valid for a period of 3 or 5 years as they like to keep that as up-to-date as possible.
I was released 3B (Medical) and went in to reapply after...
Pretty sure with your limited experience they wouldn't have enough to do a PLA (Prior Learning Assessment) on ya for a recruit school bypass. Never know though.
I reapplied for RMS Clerk (was 3b release for back/knee) in 2005 but feel it's well enough now to attempt reentry. I have an medical/interview tomorrow but not sure if they will have me see my family doctor for her to sign some paperwork and then schedule two specialists (one for knee and one...
Ya, I don't think being 5'2" will hinder you any. A friend in my infantry unit was probably that height and when we went on ruck marches all you could see were a pair of boots and the top of his helmet. He did fine and I believe I even saw him in a video segment chewing some poor recruit out...
He may techically be a Canadian citizen but that is only because he was BORN here. I believe he spent less than one year of his life here with the rest being spent in Afghanistan/Pakistan.
My question regarding this would be what about those injured training FOR Afghanistan? I was injured back in 2002 and by 2005 was released 3B. I feel my back/knee have improved and remained stable enough for me to try to get back in. It would be nice not to have to jump through hoops and see...
