When I did my physical I went 1inch above the ground or "nose touching the floor", and he said it was correct? He only counted them if my nose touched the floor. Which is 1" above the ground.

This. And never aim for the bare minimum. http://www.employerregistry.ca/Portals/0/halton/ReserveFitnessStandard.pdf Practice proper push up form, hands to the side behind the shoulder blades, feet together pointed forward, down once inch above the ground then back up until your arms are...

Voluntary Release (VR) from Reserve - anytime [Merged]

Ok I understand, all I ways saying is that we should re-introduce the PT test. Along with being mindful of experience if it is relevant to the trade, and education again if it is beneficial to the trade. Last post

Sorry I clarified my post, but are you reffering to the reserves or regular force? From what I understand they are in before the test at St.Jean?

Yes but using them along with measuring physical standards. Meaning actually testing the applicants physical endurance in compinations with their other attributes, to determine there desirability.

I do not view my self as having proved anything, in fact I upgrade my grade 12 and work out feeling like the CAF is far from my reach. I see the Army as a goal, and a career full of incredible opportunities. I have failed many, many, many times, I'm not entitled to anything and, if I get...

Do you not have spellcheck? And only call the recruiting centre every 3-4 weeks.

Voluntary Release (VR) from Reserve - anytime [Merged]

I'm not for lowering the standards in fact as I stated before I'm all for tougher more realistic physical requirements for certain jobs, while maintaining the WFT for less strenuous jobs. Eye in The Sky your point is absolutely valid, but how can you guarantee that an applicant who goes through...

Voluntary Release (VR) from Reserve - anytime [Merged]

So if there is an applicant who went to culinary school and wants to be a cook, he/she should be barred from entering because he/she can't do a couple pushups. Or an applicant who has a degree in say English and wants to be and RMS, he/she too should be rejected because of their physical...

So if an applicant is competitive in everything other then their physical fitness (education, work experience, maturity), they should be cast aside for other less suitable applicants? I'm all for physical endurance being considered in the application process, but not if it means cutting out...

    Why The "Why?" Question?

I've noticed that people never ask what job I want to do in the army, they always assume join the army=shoot the guns. Of course it falls to the applicant to explain what they want to do, and what the job entails.

    Interview advice (merged)

I fully understand how it feels to walk into a recruiting office for the first time, I was incredibly nervous and barely able to put a sentence together, and the recruiters being the first contact you have with CAF might leave a bitter taste in your mouth. But over the course of my application...
