    Comm Rsch question ????

Well time for a 291er to set you straight eh lol.  First of all, yes, you will be posted to Leitrim off your QL3.  The bulk of our trade is here, and you can expect to stay here atleast until after your QL5.  After that, there's lots of options. We do get lots of deployments, but again...

Already paying attention to rumours eh?  you've got a lot to learn about the 291 trade my son hahhaha One thing you'll find out your QL3 is that dates will change.  It'll never go by the book because it totally depends on clearances to do the second half.  Be content in the fact that there are...

It seems that we get one after another poster claiming to have their finger on the pulse of the masses armyintheafterlife: As a new user on these forums, how can you possibly vouch for other users?  Ignoring posts and hoping people will go away negates the purpose of this forum altogether...

I often wonder why some non-military people or quitters bother posting on here?  I guess some people have to experience it to realize the significance.  As far as the ruck marchs....it's been a long time since my reserve infantry days and I just did two complete BFT's in two weeks....blisters...

Steve-o I think you might want to back up your comments about everyone in the military an appalling nae insensitive attitude.  I'm not sure how you justify these remarks, giving that you're not a current military member.  Your profile states that you're a former Pte, no offence to Ptes, and...

Right on lads......I think this was something that had to be addressed.....the documentary left me with a bad taste in my mouth, especially as I am just about to deploy on my first tour.  Cudos to 3rd Horseman and GO! for clearing some of this stuff up.  I also think that there are a lot of...

Crow.....I got the exact same feeling......I'm sure we've ALL met someone similar to that in our careers unfortunately.......my guess would be that maybe she had problems upstairs before she ever set foot on the Protecteur.  They say everyone reacts different to Combat Stress, however, as you...

Maybe it was just me, but I found the fact that the female who served in the Gulf on Protecteur's case a little confusing.  I was under the impression that Gulf War Syndrome had something to do with depleted uranium shells, particularly those used in tanks.  I was'nt aware that Protecteur had...

L_Rpn You can live off base with your family if you want.  You get posted to Kingston for your 3's, so it should'nt be an issue.  I'm not sure if they'll entertain IR, separation pay though..... cheers

Its true that there is a backlog on clearances, and it can take a while.  Yes, you do need your clearance before you can start the classified portion of the QL3.  You can do the unclassified stuff, no problem.  Lots of morse code, typing, general communications, math, etc, etc.  They're trying...

    CFS Leitrim posting

I'm posted to Leitrim....not sure how many of you tech types are here.  We do have a fairly large tech maintenance shop though.  Seems like a good place for techs to work, there's likely no shortage of things to fix.  Plus you'll get to work with some equipment that you probably would'nt touch...

Its about $400 a month for barracks in Ktown.  As far as 291 QL3 crses are concerned, not sure when the next starts.  But one thing to keep in mind is, that when it does start, you will not likely be ending it on schedule.  Expect to be there a year or more, you have to wait for your security...

    Questions regarding COM RESEARCH.

Well everyone is bound to have dislikes about whatever trade they are in......and they'll likely vary from person to person.  I guess the fact that most of us are posted here in Ottawa is a sore spot with some, but it makes sense to me.  But we also have some postings state-side which will open...

    Questions regarding COM RESEARCH.

Personally I think the 291 trade is an excellent choice.  I have'nt regretted the choice.  Just stay the course, the QL3 is not so much difficult as boring from the wait for your security clearance.  But it is worth the wait.  The most impressive thing about this trade is that it is so...

    Int Op and Comm Research?

Good luck guys, remember to stay the course.  It may take a while to get cleared and qualified, but its worth the wait.  Who knows, I may be your instructor muahahaha.
