B.C. prison inmates fighting to unionize

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. As a former Correctional Officer, I am disgusted that the thought of this would even be entertained. If this passes, I will have lost the small bit of faith I have left in our criminal justice system.

MOC training for NES OP - or other Naval OP trades for that matter

Hi Dave, and welcome to the site. I have read your post in it's entirety and am not sure if you are aware that NESOPs are a completely different trade from the Intelligence folks. As far as intel goes, I can't say much other than the following.  It is not element specific. This means that you...

    PAT Platoon Inquiry

PAT platoons are totally unique. Usually, Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 3:30, as far as what I have seen. There is also the possibility that you could be tasked out to a different unit that works different hours. Don't really make plans until you are there and speak with you chain of command.

The Reserve Thread- A Merged Collection of Q & A's

Honestly Alpha4, since you are planning to join the Reg. Force in a year anyway, I would focus on school and try to make your application the best that it can be. Also take time with your pals from school or where ever, and enjoy life! This is just my view, and I think that it is great that you...

HMCS CHARLOTTETOWN deploying to join CBG off Libya

Any ideas as to what their role is going to be? I'm thinking that if things keep going at the rate they currently are in Libya, and it does fall into a state of civil war, this might not be the last ship we send. To the crew, best wishes and stay safe.  :yellow:

Where were they mounted out of curiosity? My thoughts on yours; CF-18s are our defense against air target aren't they? I'm not well versed in our domestic defenses, so please advise if I am mistaken.

Turmoil in Libya (2011) and post-Gaddafi blowback

I was just watching the BBC news and there was an interview with Ghafaffi. In the interview, he stated that " there are no demonstrations " and that " all my people love me. "  This man has some serious issues with denial. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-12603259

    The CFS Alert Merged Thread

Hey guys and girls. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me some of the basics about a tour to the north. I don't have anyone in my current COC that has been up there, so I am at a loss for what to expect if I were ever to make it up there. I suppose my first question would be, what can...

Turmoil in Libya (2011) and post-Gaddafi blowback

Thanks for the link Milnews. I can certainly understand where you are coming from too, but I am trying to look at how things will play out in today's world. Times have changed, and the world is smaller now. If there is a US force moved to Libya, would it not make more sense to send ground...
