How competitive...

It is very competitive but keep in mind, you have no idea how you stack up to the rest of the applicants. The worst they can do is say no but CDN Aviator said it best: Good luck and welcome to the large and over crowded fraternity of anxiously waiting for their phone to ring wannabe Pilots.

Aircrew Selection/ACS (Merged)

I don't know if that is the case; I applied for a CT from the Reserves. It could be that you are simply more competitive than I am for example and received an ASC date.

Aircrew Selection/ACS (Merged)

That's funny - I am CEOTP and my date in April was cancelled. Two weeks before my date I hadn't heard anything so I contacted them. I was told I wasn't going until they had the SIP numbers for this year. No new dates have been given to me either. I am not complaining, I just thought that it was...

Aircrew Selection/ACS (Merged)

Well I'll be...there are CEOTP'ers on there. That's not what I was told. All I can do it laugh at this point. Again, good luck!

New recruiting numbers

Well, I wouldn't expect those scores to go down. They just opened the Pilot door to candidates who have had LASIK. http://www.airforce.forces.gc.ca/site/newsroom/news_e.asp?cat=114&id=5838 "The Canadian Forces has not had any difficulty attracting aircrew applicants in the past several years...

Good for you! That is what I thought: ROTP candidates are still being booked for ASC. I did have a tentative booking for April 14th, but it was cancelled. Good luck!

For those who are going on the 28th, did you apply for Pilot through ROTP?

NHL 07/08

Well, it looks like 23.5% were wrong! ;D Usually playoff fever is great here. I haven't seen too many car flags or Sens jerseys yet. What a difference a year can make!

The CF policy on laser eye surgery for Pilots? Unfair?

That's good; perhaps now the CF will no longer be short of Pilot applications. ;) Wow. First they revive CEOTP, then they lower the vision requirements, and now they have approved LASIK. Good news for those who have been waiting for this policy to change!

Thoughts on deployment/rotation length & HLTA

Too add to that, it is not much easier in "Club Fed". I had a rough time getting leave for just SQ and training. It seems not every manager or HR rep has a firm grasp of the leave policies in place and it can make it difficult to get the leave. I guess it is because not a lot of PS employees, at...

Thoughts on deployment/rotation length & HLTA

Agreed. Still I wonder how many employers would support up to a year of leave for those who have a full time job.

Good question. Does anybody know?

CEOTP/MARS bond...

Oops - thanks CDN Aviator ;D. I was more interested in finding out how long the entire process was for gunner; I just didn't ask the right question. Again, congratulations gunner .

CEOTP/MARS bond...

Congrats and good luck to you. I am a CEOTP Pilot applicant. No offer yet; I still have one more stage to complete. You mentioned, "...finally got a conditional offer..." How long have you been waiting?
15. W

Change of Heart: Job offer for Reg force, now want Reserves.

Have you spoken with your career counsellor at this point? How can I put this... I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't happen overnight. I could be wrong. Good luck.

CEOTP (Continuing Ed Officer Trg Plan) 2003-2018 [Merged]

Well, for some Pilots, I understand the wait was 2-4 years before they had their wings depending on how things were moving. In Meridian's case, he has really searched for a concrete answer and has yet to receive one. Personally, if the recruiting centre informed me that they only way to find...

CEOTP (Continuing Ed Officer Trg Plan) 2003-2018 [Merged]

Wasn't that the Officer Cadet Training Plan ? I actually spoke with a Herc Pilot and a former Aurora (now E-3 Pilot) who came in through this plan in the 90's. (Neither one of them have their degree in case you...

CEOTP (Continuing Ed Officer Trg Plan) 2003-2018 [Merged]

Several of the contacts I mentioned earlier did not have previous service. Some had either Reserve or Cadet experience, but not all of them.

CEOTP (Continuing Ed Officer Trg Plan) 2003-2018 [Merged]

Not that it is concrete answer, but I have asked the same question to several 2nd LTs who are currently on SLT or OJT. According to them, "everybody" was promoted to 2nd LT upon completing IAP/BOTP. "Everybody" being those who were entered under CEOTP. Now, just a little disclaimer, I was only...

It's so Cold in Manitoba.....

Weird - I can't tell you how many times I have sat on the bumper of my Toyota and watched CanForceX do circuits at YOW while thinking, "Man I would love to do that." That many slots eh? Oh well; it is still just a day dream at this point.
