Verification of Former Service (VFS) [Merged]

Plenty of folks re-enrol.  Head down to a CFRC and have a chat with them. You will need to think about and be able to explain in your interview why you left the first time, and what is different this go around that means you won't leave a second time. Good luck!

Medical Rejection: How to Appeal? [Merged]

Sgt at CFRC MTL just told me that  as of 1997, CFAT results are good for life. (Assuming you meet the standards, and the data isn't "lost").

    Weekend BMQ starting Sept 2007

5minutemajor - you may want to complete out your profile with your location if you want people to assist with where it may or may not be held... Also, FYI, there is no current  rank of  "Staff Sergeant" in the CF....

    Waiting for a BMQ date.

Read through personal stories and the recruiting forum... many people post their experiences.  As well, Applications Samples thread should give you a solid idea of when people applied, completed things, and received offers.

I Need Your Opinion Ref: negative feed back from family

My mom hated the fact that I was joining the military.  The only thing she liked was the idea of a college education. Colleagues looked at me like I was nuts to leave a well-paid job. Now I'm doing it all over again, 5 years later, and my current salary is already above an average Captain.  Its...

Ottawa to fund relaunch of CMR

Well, a few things: 1 - CEGEPs are designed to be functionally different from High School, in particular because they represent an entirely voluntary admissions system which is entirely segregated from the Secondary system.  You go to a different building, and, in many cases people move to...

    Arty Officer Update

Thanks Ralph for the info.  I'm actually getting pretty interested in Arty now... it was my second choice after Armour for ROTP too... Infantry has always been a lofty third ;) Only Cbt Arms trade open for CEOTP right now is Arty, and even there, its only 3 spots (as of 19 Jul). That said, the...

BMQ September 2007 - ALL locations Thread

Being in Montreal doesn't actually get you selected any faster to go to St Jean than any other recruit out there. If you'd like to know about people getting their call, there are a VERY wide range of answers about that all over the site here.  Some people its a week, others 3 years.

    The Afghan Mission Post 2009

Hi all.  We've all heard the speculation and random wanderings of the MSM on this topic, as well as the official opposition parties. With what you know today, what do you think Canada's Military commitment to Afghanistan will be immediately following our current commitments? Obviously this is...

Staff on BMQ & IAP Courses

Hi all, Was just curious, with the amount of courses going on now (with all the BMQs being run all over the place), coupled with OPTEMPO, where all the staff are coming from, and if the Training system has "lowered' the ranks of the Pers delivering the training? Does each BMQ Serial have their...

New Lengths for SQ and MOC ?

Fair enough... I must have mixed up my math when reading above.. it sounded like SQ was 10 weeks and the following MOC training was 10 weeks...  thus a 14 week combined Battle School "DP1" would be shorter.    If it matches up with the old way, and the old way worked, then all the better!

New Lengths for SQ and MOC ?

OUt of my lane, sounds like it streamlines training and cuts down the amount of waiting for courses, by virtue of the fact that there are less courses and the courses that remain are condensed.  Should get people to the unit faster,  but what will it do to standards?

Ottawa to fund relaunch of CMR

Brad, Prep Year is already a "specially-funded replacement of High-School".  Sort of. Quebec students graduate after Secondaire V  (Grade 11, though Quebec claims it is Grade 12 equivalent). Ontario Universities require Grade 12 as a minimum prerequisite, and so there is a one year gap. ...

Is Aerospace Control Officer position open to CEOTP candidates?

' Beyond trade specifics, CEOTP opens and closes depending on how DEO recruitment is going, and also if previous CEOTP offers end up declining or not showing up. As a result, easiest way to know is dial the number for the local CFRC. They'll give you an exact answer with # of positions if...

Ottawa to fund relaunch of CMR

Good summary, thanks! With all five years, how many cadets did CMR hold?  The grounds aren't exactly palatial in size, though I suppose RMC Kingston isn't huge either...

    Let the cuts begin

And being from Ottawa originally, and living in Montreal now, most of the people I've met seem to think that if its about Toronto, its about Ontario ;)

BOTC - Aug 27th, anyone going??

I just dropped off my app for CEOTP today ;)  Kinda jealous of all you guys, but wouldn't mind a bit of a delay in starting, just would prefer an offer sooner :) Its just so much easier not having to cancel leases, and such on short notice. The CFRC mentioned that if everything clears through...
