Rucking with a heavy load and the new rucksack

The new ruck requires a lot more adjustment and set-up than the old rucksack. I suggest going out for several relatively light, relatively short distance marches and correcting any problems encountered. The hip belt play a far more important role in load distribution than with the old system...

    Bad back and the military

I have a friend who overcame fairly severe back problems by achieving and maintaining a very high level of physical fitness. Be sure you have proper medical guidance before you do any type of training.

    Too Big/Tall for Armoured?

I haven't been in a G-Wagon or Leopard, but you will fit in the driver/ crew commander positions / troop compartment of a LAV. Should be plenty of room in the G-Wagon as well. I'll just add that width may be more important a factor than height in terms of getting in and out of hatches.

    Service Second to None

I've had a previous supervisor advise me, strongly, that I respond too quickly to pers at the counter. I still do not see the problem with, at least, acknowledging their presence immediately and informing them it might be a few minutes if I have a priority task at hand.

    Logistics Cap Badge

Thanks. This was my understanding as well, but I failed to make the distinction as to pre and post QL3 RMS. I'm career managed?  :o

    Logistics Cap Badge

I was particularly surprised when I was allowed to keep my unit (Infantry) badge for my QL3 RMS course at CFSAL in 2004.

    Body Mass Index and "Obesity"

I've had trouble letting things slide in the past. I just don't want what I suspect is a personal mindset in this member blurring the lines of medical and physical fitness. I really don't want this to become her approach with any future patients who do not measure up in terms of fitness...

Tactical combat casualty care ( TCCC )

I am hoping someone can help me out with any good and applicable references (both on and off site) to supplement training for someone starting out within a Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) role. I can do my own internet searches but I am sort of working in the dark having nothing more than...

    Logistics Cap Badge

I was just curious if any other units have their support personnel (RMS, Supply) wear the unit cap badge versus the logistics badge? I've recently been informed by my employing unit to change to my "correct" cap badge. Please don't get me wrong, I love my trade, I just love my unit more and...

    Body Mass Index and "Obesity"

Just a quick follow-up, I've been working to reduce my overall weight in fat and improve my cardiovascular endurance. I'm at about 197 lbs and would like to get that down to about 175 lbs, BUT the actual weight is less important to me than physical performance.

    Body Mass Index and "Obesity"

I need your personal and / or professional opinions and advice about a recent incident that continues to bother me. Sometime late March 09 following sessions of lead up training for the annual Battle Fitness Test (BFT), I had been experiencing significant pain in the exterior of my right foot...

Mods deleting posts & threads-reasons given to member?

I was wondering which post was deleted. As to question of added credibility... I'd have to see it in context, but I can safely say that in this case there wasn't any. I'll do better. Sometimes I do believe that taking the time to explain to a member can save time and frustration for everyone...

Mods deleting posts & threads-reasons given to member?

I seem to have quickly racked up 4 deleted posts in my brief time here. If possible, time permitting, could I please be informed by PM the next time when I post "bad" stuff, so I can modify my behavior / language. Thanks.

    My Own Personal Rant

Generally, the people I've met and work alongside in the Forces have been personally responsible and dedicated. The few bad "eggs" usually disappear within the first year or so. But then again, I'm a Reservist.  ;D Nice rant though. I don't blame the individuals any more, but the leadership...
