I think in order to retain our personnel, the CAF will need to change in so many ways, from the Medical side to the policy side. Some policies laid out by the CAF are outdated. One Policy that sticks out is DAOD 5003-6 (CCM, Compassionate Postings etc) We have to be more family friendly given...
I agree with Brihard, the BPSO would be your best bet, however I have a few subordinates are doing similar. They all have approve ILP's. The BPSO intranet page should have the link for ILP's. It's worth a try!
I was in an O'Group today, it was mention by the BSurg that a new interm Policy on direction for Clinicians to follow regarding categories was coming out shortly. Has anyone been told the same? If so, any idea on how this interm policy is going to be laid out?
The official Policy was supposed...
Ok, I am not familiar with all the contracts as I never did pay attention to them until now. I am doubting you, but it seems to me I recall one of my supervisors with 22 years in was on the 30-30 plan, not on IPS
I realize you have still live out the current TOS. I think normally ( if all the stars are aligned!) a new contract is offered to Mbr approx. two years prior to the current TOS Expires. If the new TOS doesn't take affect till the old one expires, just wondering if that new TOS could be change...
I think I already know the answer to this! Can a person change their new upcoming contract after signing? Meaning, say if a Mbr has signed for a IE 20, but still has a couple years remaining in that contract, then offered IPS and signs. Can that IPS be changed?
I agree with the remarks about postings!, I am going on my 7th posting in 18 years. I am done with the moving around crap. At one time, I would volunteer for postings but now it is becoming a major pain.
From what I was told, this would retain more people, but the catch is that those who are G4 04 would not be able to deploy due to limitations. This would also mean a change in universality of service (Lower). Apparently, most Medical Files in DMed Pol are not being processed until these new...
I think this has been in the works for a bit. The CAF is trying to make the effort to retain people with some types of injuries. I have seen a document today that briefly outlines a new medical category that is suppose to be release in the near future. Basically it says that G4 O4 would be...
Sorry, I was just speaking from a general Point of View! Ex, a false statement or an inconsiderate statement made a Mbr of the CAF, That offends a spouse of a military Mbr
Given that the CAF is responsible to the tax payers in Canada, Does a Military Mbr spouse have the right to put a complaint against a Mbr of the CAF?
In my 20yrs in the Military, I have never seen or heard this before. But then again, I am not pervy to this!
I have to agree that there is no leadership training given to NO's and MO's, however, with many things the CAF get wrong, I don't how the CAF can expect leadership coming with a person who has degree. A degree doesn't make you into a leader.
I have worked with some awesome NO's and MO's who are...
I should also add to my last, receiving a good job by an email for doing a task is apparently not the same thing as a Bravo Zulu (BZ). According to the English dictionary it is the same, only one is more formal than the other.
I witness today a Nursing Officer telling a Cpl that her MH illness was a negative point in her PER. Because the Cpl did not tell the officer her MH struggles, it showed a flaw in her character. I was pissed at the officer and waited till the Cpl had left before I strongly expressed my thought...
I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the educational benefit introduced by vac. If a Mbr qualifies for the $80,000 amount. Is that only used for 1 end state? Let's say I choose to attend Dalhousie University for a degree in science, which costs approx. $30,000, I graduate. Now I want to...
Thanks for the responses!
I don't feel comfortable asking my CoC, as they often break the rules to meet their own needs on a regular basis and the attitude "it's my way or no way" doesn't help any.
Does anyone know the location of the policy/ direction on COS dates? I have a subordinate who is asking how long a COS date can be postponed due to the inability to get an PMQ. I have been trying to find the policy on this. I have checked the CBI'S etc, but I can't seem to find it.
Thanks in...
