Claude's funeral was today. It was a sad occasion but at the same time comforting for me to witness the love that everyone had for this proud soldier. The memory of him I will keep is his smiling face and joyous laugh.
Rest in peace my friend, your duty is done. Keep heaven healthy for the...
With all due respect MG34... what public health training do you have. I speak from experience that the US vets... and more than likely of the other contingents after having spoken with them during roto 4, will not provide services to "non-authorized working animals". As a PMed, I do not make...
Yeah, great to see. Carry things, pull things... transmit various life threatening zoonotic diseases. I wonder why people still insist on ignoring the no pets rule that are in numerous regs.
I know that someone is going to say it is good for morale...etc. Is losing a friend because of a...
Claude was one of the first PMed Techs I met upon my posting to Valcartier. He actually assisted me when I was short-noticed deployed to the Athena MDT mission to prepare sea-cans for repat, mainly since I only had 3 months in the trade. Upon his return to Valcartier from Kabul we became good...
FE; I too was impressed, and would love to hear their answer to that question also. But also about how they feel about the fact that the piece basically ignores the role of the Med Tech and other support services (with the exception of the Big Lib). I know that my wife was interviewed and there...
Doc Neil was the one who said it on the show. He is very well read and verbose to boot. If only I had written down some of the things he said I would be able to laugh for a long time....

Having been in the unit during the filming, I am very excited to see it. The reporters seemed very impressed at the work of the unit. The only down part, IMHO, is the fact that they neglected to speak to other sections of unit. For example FMed and PMed, while not as rating grabbing as trauma...

pp. 1250-1253(4)
Authors: Schofield, Steve; Tepper, Martin; Tuck, Jeremy J. H.
It's in the 12 Dec Issue...
There is a good article in regards to Malaria prophylaxis in the Dec issue, written by the CF Entomolgist. I got the article sent to me... don't know if it is on line.
On behalf of my girlfriend and I, who being part of the medical family in Afghanistan but on HLTA, pass on our condolences to the families and to our peers. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, WE WILL REMEMBER THEM! :salute:
First of all, last time I checked medics don't carry any blood with them. Any cas that will receive blood will get it at a facility with a lab, who will cross match the blood prior (hence one of the reasons they take blood in the trauma bays). If they need it right away it will ffp or O-. They...
Slug;
you wouldn't happen to have a photo of the memorial... some of us haven't gotten out to the FOBs....yet but would like to see what it looks like.
Of topic...they are sandflys...and use your DEET!!! (I am sick of them too...nobody using their DEET and complain to the PMeds....)
