This goes back to the talk that CWO McBride gave at CFMSS back during one of my courses about all medical trades being in the land element, makes sense to me since the main units are the Fd Ambs.... yes... I know this might start an argument...
My only hope is that people will learn from this occurance. Although I am not dirrectly involved in the STD program of my base, I am informed of the numbers which are reported to Ottawa. A point of thought however, if everyone would seek treatment for STDs, then abide with the directions given...
I hate to ask this since I havent read it yet but does it speak of the ongoing evaluation of the TB testing of all members prior and post deployments???
Also, forgot to mention, I have alot of respect for some HCAs, some actually try to learn about all the medical trades. The majority don't however... sorry if you don't like that comment, but it is just an observation from personnal experience
Thanks for helping out there para, btw...got offered HCA when I joined the res, didnt take it. Thank god for that, I enjoyed treating people in both the res and the regs and now working as a PMed Tech. And you are right about the courses, it's amazing how much common sense is NOT taught on...
I hate to sya this but I think Valcartier actually has a good solution with one os its messes. I know this since I am a member of one of the only (if not the only) MCpls Mess in the CF. It is not only a bar, but we have the best "restaurant" on the base (at least the best poutine :salute:). It...

I do know that in the medical units 1 Fd Amb in Edmonton is the oldest medical unit, the youngest is 5 Amb de Camp in Valcartier. 2 Fd Amb is somewhere in the middle....
Thanks for the info Gunner, I thought I remembered something like that from drinking at the RCHA Association in Kingston.... got to love drinking with gunners...
The fact that Henault actually commented in front of media after budget increased my opinion of him... as of my recollection nobody except DeChastelain ever did that. And the fact that he said that it was a start and that the decline over the past ten years can't be rectified in one means to me...
The one that keeps comming to mind for me is my JLC/JNCO in Pet back in 1998, our Pl WO was an ex-jump gunner and obviously wasn't good with computers. His quote for all problems: "That is BADDDDDD DATA!"
And nobody from that year can forget the good ol' CSM of Leadership Coy.... if you had...
Just to clarify the last point... the only berets authorised for medical trades are the black for the navy, the blue for the AF, the green for the army and the maroon for medics assigned to jump position and are qualified para.
Hey guys; for the topic of the Vaccination Book... whenever you hear you have an immunization parade, medical appointment or any other DAG type event ALWAYS have your book. Even though we in DCOS FHP streams are putting the immunizations in a computer database we do not have the time to look up...
