The whole story?  He shot and killed 2 members of the RCMP.  What can you possibly think would excuse that?  What sort of extenuating circumstances could allow for that behaviour to be explained? T

I remember discussing this with the Sgt and Lt (N) on my course, and I believe the increase in time was to allow for a longer period in the field, and more of a focus on physical fitness, drill & deportment, etc.  I'll email them when I get back from holidays, and see what I can figure out. T
