She  left for Saint Jean this week as a pte (recruit) to start her basic. I'll be 50 in a couple months, so she'll be 49 sometime...

I dunno; I did recruit applicant medicals out of Gagetown & Fredericton from 02 until 06; then at NCSM JOLLIET, Sept-Iles, with the reserves from 06 until 010; 75% most of the applicants I talked with always wanted to be a pilot...  ;)

Pictures and info on CF tunnel systems

My first posting was to London in 82 as an infanteer. Stories sitting in the snake pit at the JR's mess had talk of tunnel under skunk's hollow ( by the main gate in front of the officiers mess).  Never seen them, nor had anyone else I knew of my 6 years there. Now stories of 'The Beef Baron'...

    The Great Gun Control Debate

Well, for me, the province is full of crap. When I came here in 010 after myself & ninerdom retired out of uniform to settle down in her homedown just outside Bathurst, I had to go to Chatham to do a 'restricted' course for a job application. I would have had to wait a couple months to do a...

Thoughts on Rum Rations & Field Smokers (From:

Well, from 1RCR in the early & mid 80's: we always had a BBQ and-or smoker in the field after end-ex, usually a few days before heading home (when most gear was packed & ready to go); Pet, Ipperwash, Norway, Wainwright (after RV's), etc, etc, etc. Sure there were sometimes a couple games of...

    acl surgery

Not trying to discourage or being an -hole, but can you live comfortably without it (brace) above & beyond  normal civilan type training? (5km and more pt runs; 10 k ruck marches; carrying heavy loads; sports; etc) Can you live without re-injuring or a better-than-normal chance of aggrevating...

    The Wisdom Teeth Merged Thread

It was recommended by the DO to have my wisdom removed before I went on tour. (I only had 2 upper,my bottom two never came in). They were only a nuisance at the time; no serious problem, though some in my family did have issues with wisdom teeth (impaction, etc) I went ahead & had them removed...

Medical Rejection: How to Appeal? [Merged]

My doctor agreed with this, noting that technically everybody should carry an EpiPen in that case because really nobody knows exactly what they're allergic to. ...'technically' by that reasoning, then we should all carry O2 tanks, tric kits... I've been retired from the regs out of CFRC...

Argentina Reasserts Claims To Falklands (again)

I fail to see how a democratic vote by over 90% of the populace can be seen as 'illegal' by the Argentinian government ....bettin' dollars to donuts if the vote was  360, the Argentinian government would see things quit differently....
