Just stating other possibilities .... you can be a cadet and a reservist at the same time (thus a potential member of the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps)
Well if by RCAC he means Royal Canadian Armoured Corps, then yes he would be getting paid as a Troop Leader ... however if this person is at your school it is likely they are a cadet, in which case there is no pay.
I agree it is a much needed site, coming along nicely but lots of work is still required. One thing to note is I know of one recipient of the Cadet Medal for Bravery that is not on that site, so it may not be fully current.
There are national prerequisites in place (of course individual units can require a higher training prerequisite be met). Also summer camp courses are no longer prerequisites (although they do tend to have an influence). The national prerequisites are as follows:
Pte - Green Star
Cpl - Red...
I know the feeling .... back in the day my corps wore combats as training dress and we wore brassards with rank on them. I finally sewed my Corporal stripes onto the brassard only to get promoted to MCpl and have to re-sew the brassard and tunic (and a month later we switched to rank slip ons).
Thanks, I had the information for Costa Rica from the Army Cadet League website.
Central Region very rarely puts any form of information on their website (I believe most of it comes through CadetNet), I should have known to check Pacific Region.
Also to add, when I did exchange in 2003 we had...
The level number badges are to be worn with the cross rifles badge (however not with the cross rifles and crown). I believe they used to have different coloured cross rifle badges to signify level, which is why some corps may still be wearing just the cross rifles badge.
MWO Forbes, would you happen to know where I could get some information on that?
There is also the International Expedition to Costa Rica which I am considering applying for.
I love the looks I get when I tell females to fix their hair, since I am a male many of them think I'm not entitled to criticize them.
But on the topic here, I agree with whats been said: the cadets are only as good as the leaders above them. If a cadet hasn't been taught how to properly wear...
Well I am currently a CWO, so I guess that is as far as I get ... however when I started cadets I never saw myself being the leader that I am now, and didn't expect to spend as much time in cadets as I have.
Thank you very much sir, I have aspired to go to RMC or be an officer in the CF by some other means ... I have also recently finished my processing for RMC and am awaiting the decision of the National Selection Board.
I guess I'll jump on board ...

Pace stick drill can be found in the CFP 201 (Canadian Forces Manual of Drill and Ceremonial), I don't have my CD copy handy anymore ... but I'm sure someone else around here might.
As for the music ... ask your Band O (if you don't have a Band O then possible Trg O) to contact the RCMA...
Interesting comparison, I don't really have a knowledge of the legalities pertaining to Britain or their cadet system so all I can really offer is an opinion.
Europe has a different ethical mindset then North America, many of their laws and opinions as a society differ from that of North...
True, that respect is created out of admiration and some intimidation ... over time though they respect their leaders for their actions and abilities.
I'm aware you didn't say that ... I was just explaining because I have seen many senior NCOs that feel that because they have the courses...
Canadian Cadets cannot be used as a third line of defense. I'm sure Britain has a different set of laws regarding this, as their cadets can be utilized as a third line of defense.
My best advice is to practice shooting as often as possible, if your corps has any rifle coach's get one of them to help you with your breathing and shooting technique.
It is good to be proud of your accomplishments and qualifications, but certificates badges medals and pins aren't what make...
