    2.4 KM run?

I'm going to add my .02 in here. I just finished bmq in Borden and I echo the others here who say "don't stop at 2.4 km". In fact I would suggest you be able to run at a minimum 5 km before you attempt bmq. 10km would be even better. And I'm talking about running outside because that is...

Extra Kit on BMQ ? Cameras, Cell Phones, Laptops..

You can bring it. Most of the people on my bmq have those disposable ones and leave the expensive ones either with staff or locked up in civvie until the weekend. You can't pack it around all day long or anything, but you can use it on the weekends and evenings and we are allowed to bring them...

    Vancouver recruiting center questions.

I did all the tests at the Georgia Street office, including the XPres test. I had to take a form to my GP to get the blood work done, so those were the only tests I didn't get done at Georgia Street CFRC.

The New World Order and the Canadian Soldier

And I pray that my tax dollars are not funding your ridicously shameless lack of education. I read 1984. I actually read it before 1984. Here's a hint: don't read sci-fi, you are way too impressionable. Next you'll be telling us the Ewoks are coming! The Ewoks are coming! ha ha ha ha ha...

Solution to Gay Marriage debate: Get the government out of it!

Agreed. IMO and if you read what I stated previously, I am not in favour of forcing churches to perform marriage ceremonies for anyone, nor do I think it's anyone's  - other than the particular congregation's pervue -  to decide such things . Churches are like private clubs who make their own...

Solution to Gay Marriage debate: Get the government out of it!

I am somewhat offended by your *tongue in cheek* yee haw reference that we should somehow be opposed to same sex marriage. I'm not getting where you are coming from? Are you snickering at gay marriage as trivial and so not worthy or have i read your post all wrong? Enlighten me.

How do you figure that? Right now marriage licences don't require you to be of any religion.  ???

Solution to Gay Marriage debate: Get the government out of it!

Yes, I agree with your post too. Someone else said, "we can't un-ring the bell" (sorry but can't page back enough to see who said it). I'm pretty sure some politicians would definately like to!

Well I guess I'll help out here seeing as this is about as close to my lane as any questions come on here! I did basic last June and was rtu'd I'll be returning same time as you Dog. If nothing has changed drastically since last summer, here's what I know: PT gear (shorts, t-shirts and...

Solution to Gay Marriage debate: Get the government out of it!

We seem to be arguing against "getting the government out of it!" Because if I understand the majority of these posts, we are all in agreement that some form of documentation is required in order for people to be equal under the laws of co-habitation, shared property, etc. I believe that is...

What Exactly can your MP do to speed up your recruiting process?

Hmmm, that's curious. Really? How would a Ministerial review take place if the CF won't release information? I suspect there is probably a way for the member to give permission for their information to be disclosed to an MP.

Solution to Gay Marriage debate: Get the government out of it!

Right you are CFL, I didn't mention the justice of the peace/courthouse marriage, but even the couples who choose to go that route usually bring along some friends for witnesses and support. A JP will perform a wedding ceremony in all kinds of places, i.e. your parents back yard, at the beach...

Solution to Gay Marriage debate: Get the government out of it!

I'm not intimately familiar with the entire gay marriage issue, but I think I'm going to risk wading into this puddle for a minute. I think the reason gay couples want their marriages to be 'sanctioned' by the government is so that they can enjoy benefits that heterosexual couples enjoy. i.e...

    Ship's Boarding Party [Merged]

I was interested in this because I don't recall hearing anything in the news. I did a search and found that in November 2001 two crew of the USS Peterson were trapped in a ship they boarded in the Gulf and died: http://www.news.navy.mil/search/display.asp?story_id=2109 I wonder if it's the...
