Nomij's post about rent around bases got me thinking. My wife is obsessed with knowing at any given time what areas of a town/city we may be posted to is ideal for us. She knows the approximate prices for the types of houses in the areas we would consider, and where the immediate amenities...
Good for you for asking, even if you don't land in the places you have researched, the information may well come in handy in the future. Ignore the jests, there is nothing wrong with being prepared.
You do not know the specifics about my father, therefore I will forgive you for your ignorant comments about him. The doctor he sees, one of the top two Parkinsons specialists in the country, is fully aware he has Parkinsons and is also fully aware he drives and has no issues with my father...
I'm just telling you what my family experiences. You'll find many doctors hesitate to pull a licence, at least that has been my experience and discussing it with my wifes doctor, seems common.
Vern you are correct, if Annie has been told not to drive by her doctor, and I suspect this is not...
I'm not a medical specialist, but I feel sorry for this woman as my wife suffers from a condition (crohns) and although my wife has a drivers license, she knows when she can and can not drive. There are other conditions like this, such as Parkinson's which my father has and he as well knows...
It surprised me when they referred to it as that; the only thing I can think of, and this is an assumption on my part, is that we took advantage of the 25K no interest thing and this would put us in this "military group mortgage" category.
Since we're supposedly different (for whatever reason)...
Has anyone here paid off (discharged) their mortgage with Firstline under the military group mortgage at terms end? I don't have easy access to my mortgage dox until early Summer and our term is up at the end of March, kicking myself for not bring a copy with me.
Noticed the website states...
It appears the woman has mental health issues. Hopefully she will get the help she needs, although it would be sad to have had something like this happen before she gets help.
Anny I'm not sure what base you are at, but if you're at your wits end send emails so you have something in writing and stress how stressed out you are. My wife had to get to the point she was afraid of herself because every morning our youngest would give her a hard time.
My wife had a really...
I can't stand most country music, but my wife and I have been to a few GC concerts and I was impressed. Most of his songs I liked, albeit some are a bit sappy. I also agree with the others that I don't think his support of the troops is a huge PR thing. I liked his personal stories he shared...
This is fantastic! So fantastic I'm considering switching where I contribute to one of these schools, and I hope others follow suit. Kudos to all schools who are participating!
I was reading the tips Petamocto posted in this thread: http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/82975.15.html and it got me thinking that I'm sure there's a lot more tips people may know about and want to share, or may not know and want to find out about being posted via IRP.
If you have any...
jessica have you thought of talking to someone about this? I mean someone via the Canadian Forces assistance program, or someone at the family support centre? If you're to the point you're thinking, regardless of how seriously or not, of breaking up the engagement I suggest you speak to...
I've often wondered why so many people live in Q's and not purchase. Is it because they like the convenience of living close to work? Or is it because they can't quality for a mortgage?
Thanks for the great info everyone. My wife insisted on hearing protection for my kid - I ended up phoning every bloody safety supply place in the city and found one who had ONE pair of child hearing protectors available.... pain in the arse but well worth it to have. I would recommend anyone...
