Need to break the cycle of using what ever as a pistol holster. The old green biachi holsters we issued fit the browning so badly you can pull the pistol out from behind without undoing the flap. The ones we issue now are safer and actually retain the pistol.
Im more bothered by the "Hey here's this expensive holster thats fitted to keep stuff away from the trigger mechanism and has 3 different mounting options"
"Yeah ill jusr jam it in my empty mag pouc thanks"
@brihard they're issued good holsters with thigh, drop leg, and molle attachment options.
Yup, some are granted way more governmental power than they should, even though they drain the govt coffers. Looking at you PEI and New Brunswick with your lowest voter to seat ratios in confederation.
Quebec existed before Canada, seperatists there point a distinct cultural heritage and have some arguments about protection of its culture
Alberta was created to make administering the NWT easier and the seperatists there want to pay less taxes, and based on some reporting have fewer brown...
Hmm not much training area, dated infrastructure, hours from a real air port? Sounds like an ideal location for a training base.
I wish that was sarcasm
I get the issue with those who often carry them being the worst trained - certainly the executive course of IBTS is something weve all seen happen. I would suggest though that if the threat is such you dont need a readied weapon - and your worried your soldiers and officers can't handle them...
Expertise and able to handle it safely aren't the same thing. One doesnt need to be an expert to keep the weapon holstered.
Sure but again thats a training failure. Should we adopt our policies based on the expectation that we won't actually conduct mandated annual refresher training? Again...
If you do the training package that the C22 mandates, it's fairly robust and should result in comfort with a readief pistol. That said I reiterate the issue is that we should begin training with a pistol on the assumption you'll carry it loaded and readied. The problem becomes now we have to...
I would actually hazard a guess and say the CAF is probably the only organization in the country that doesnt begin pistol training with the pistol in the holster, to include the load ready drill ending with a return to holster.
Every police service in the country does this. Manual safeties are largely seen as obsolete one combat hand guns. Glocks use a trigger safety for example. A pistol should be bolstered with a round chambered. That keeps anything beyond the shooter from operating the trigger. Frankly if Brink's...
the Commonwealth Prime Ministers Conference decided to drop the title of Dominion in 1949. That supersedes the 1867 act. Its been moved on from, is no longer in use, and holds 0 meaning legally or culturally.
