    Construction Engineers in this forum?

I am just kind of curious what kind of recognition you expected...perhaps people applauding you as you walked by? I am sure you probably noticed that a great many people are doing a lot of work at KAF and elsewhere in theatre. I am sure your work is appreciated by the people that you supported...

Advice for women on BMQ and other courses [MERGED]

Well stated, Vern. I cannot believe it is still an issue in some people's mind.  :salute:

If I Die In a Combat Zone.................

3rd, if I may add to the comments and hopefully clarify one of your points. 3rd Herd is stating that many Universities will offer degrees in the event of the student's death: "The awarding of posthumous degrees, diplomas and certificates is made only on the recommendation of a Faculty or...

Sniper investigation - Ombudsman's report delayed

Soldier of Fortune is an excellent source of accurate information.  ;) I found it unfortunate that it took so long to have the investigation completed and the findings released. Hopefully this will conclude this whole drama.  :salute:

An Internet weblog revealed the confidential court documents...

Bust Honors First Black West Point Graduate

Henry O flipper is a fascinating character. If you are interested in learning more about him I suggest finding a book called "The Court Martial of Lieutenant Henry Flipper." by Charles M. Robinson. ISBN 0-87404-296-1 published by Texas Western Press. I also watched a one man- one act play put...

Professional Envy/Jealousy in the CF...Does it Exist?

So back to the original question, obviously, jealousy and envy does exist in the CF, but hey what do I know, I just walked up a mountain...with a fine bunch of soldiers.  :salute:

Sailor who injured another calls assault ‘disgusting’

Two weeks suspended sentence seems pretty light to me without knowing all the other details, past conduct and performance, provocation extra. Not only is Military Justice used as a means to support discipline but also to act as a deterrent.  :salute:

    Canada pulled reporters from Afghanistan

Although I too was first leery of the press, it soon pays off in the fact, it brings out the soldiers perspective better then any military person could. We in the military are generally, jaded and accepting about what we do day to day, particularly on operations. Any stories we produce ourselves...

    Para Accident - 2 CER

I went to the members house last week and was surprised to see him meet me at the door. He does have to wear a back brace but is on the mend. I won't get into personal details here but he will be LOB for the short term. I plan on stopping over this week with a couple of buddies and a bottle of...

    Sapper tab approval/denial

Stand by for badges on the CADPAT, in particular the CIB and CAB or whatever the Canadian equivalent. I agree with Old Fart,((something that doesn't always happen), I think if we have earned a Cdn qualification then we should be able to wear it and not limited to the amount of hazard/skill...

Assisting Officers following a death & the PEN form

First, it is difficult enough to get the NOK forms filled out properly with useful information when a death or injury occurs. Second, we do not need a cadre of soldiers waiting for someone to be killed or injured. To me this is one of the responsibilities of the rank. What is missing from our...

    Explosive Techniques Updates

I have been tossing this one around in the grey matter and would like some input from members of the forum. I truly believe that as a Branch we have not significantly updated our abilities on explosive techniques in many years. For example, the crater group is a fine technique for the red...
