Hi everyone: I recently bought a Springfield Armory M1 Garand at a local gun shop; IMVHO, this thing is a beauty! It's made up on a (possible) Navy receiver, Danish barrel, refinished dark-stained walnut wood throughout and USGI parts for everything else. It's chambered for .30-06 Springfield...

Of course...I've heard of it. You get it issued on QL4 Underwater Knife-Fighting.  ::)

That's the exact same way it went on my SQ, bigwig, to a "T." As for firing HEAT rounds, apparently those who are involved with pre-deployment training get to fire them when doing a refresher for the Carl-G (same with the M-203, HE not Chalk.) At least this is what I've heard from others who did...

The Carl G is no longer taught on SQ (or DP1 INF); it's now up to your home unit to teach it as part of your annual IBTS Training. Also, the Carl G is now meant for Operational Training. My SQ course was among the very last serial to train on said weapon; hell our course was also among the last...

Assuming the DREAD Weapon System really works, my only question would be what the power requirement is to field such a weapon. The USA  looked into the idea of making weapons that could fire projectiles using electromagnetism (ie a Rail Gun); IIRC, the projects are mostly Naval Transformation...

DON'T DROP YOUR MASK! I've seen this happen several times when I trained at the Ypres Gas Huts in Meaford. Just carry out your drills with urgency; exaggerate your drills if it helps.

Wow, that's awesome! Too bad none of the other pouches are movable... ::) The Piper has brought back a good point; the modularity the vest "kinda" offers is not enough. As for the "band-aid" option PhilB went with; it sounds like a very good solution for guys who don't have money to completely...
