Pay: Statements, Backpay, Benefits, Deductions (Taxes, T4), Deployed ect... [MERGED]

I'm not disagreeing or anything, I'm just wondering where you get this info?  Is 2 yrs at 2Lt + 2 at Lt required time in for promotion to Captain for ROTP grads?  That's news to me.

Pay: Statements, Backpay, Benefits, Deductions (Taxes, T4), Deployed ect... [MERGED]

You are reading that right.  You'll notice several pay scales.  DEO is on the low end.  Those coming from the ranks through a variety of programs are on the high end because of their previous time in and rates of pay at those ranks. Like any organization, people with 4 years in (even if it is...

    Current Trends in CF Releases

As an OCdt, I don't pretend to have a whole lot of experience to base opinions on.  I do have the benefit of having been an army brat, so I have experienced first hand the 'military family lifestyle' from the child's perspective, and have been lucky to have met many members of the CF of all...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

CFRC Toronto surely knows.  Give them a call.

    University graduate pursuing Infantry?

Your question here is a little vague, so I'll assume you mean accepted into the CF as opposed to accepted into CANSOF or onto the courses you mentioned. My guess is that your answer depends on the recruiting climate;  at any given period, there are x number of spots for Inf Os and y number of...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

I wonder if there's a difference between a CF pilot having glasses, and a recruit who wants to be a CF pilot having glasses? I went through a very extensive aircrew vision test (ACSO) and based on the information made available to me during my selection process, having glasses was not an...

Fitness for Operational Requirements of CAF Employment ( FORCE )

At the risk of ruffling a few feathers, I'll go ahead and say that my favorite part of this is the uniformity of the standard. We expect everything to be done based on fairness, with no eye to age or gender, so fitness tests should be no different.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

I was referring to the poster who asked the initial question about laser eye surgery.  Believe me, the aircrew vision testing is far more extensive than any testing you had to do.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

I'm not sure what CFRC you're applying out of, but when I applied a few years ago out of CFRC Ottawa, only the basic vision test could be done at the RC.  For Aircrew, we all had to go to civilian doctors for a series of advanced vision testing. This poster wants to be a pilot, so he'll be...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Talk over that with your recruiting staff.  From what I understand, laser eye surgery means you start at square 1 and have to redo all your vision tests, and I'm not sure what timeline is required for that.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

In order to get an answer to your question, you'd have to poll every graduate school and ask them if they tack on 10% to an RMC grad's average.  My guess, is no, they don't all add 10% to your average, but that many schools probably look favorably on RMC grads because of the amount of training...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

The only people who can give you a definitive 'yes' or 'no' are the recruiting staff, who would be familiar with how quickly those things might be processed, and what this year's timelines are. If I were to venture a guess, I'd say you'll be very, very close to the deadline.  During my...

    End of my BE

Not trying to be mean or anything, just offering a tip for clarity because I had to re-read your post a few times to get the proper sense of it: - Resign is to relinquish a job or position, like tendering your resignation.  - Re-sign means to sign again. Good luck.

Search a little further into the website and you find the Academic Calender, with all the info you're looking for. http://www.rmc.ca/aca/ac-pe/ug-apc/pe/index-eng.asp There rumor floating around the college is that the Economics program is being cancelled, however, in line with the...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Sounds like the recruiter was pretty helpful.  Whether or not you got the answers you wanted is a different story. Often, Int O's have prior experience in another trade; that being said, it is possible to go ROTP Into O.  There are several OCdts doing so at RMC right now- just not very many...

    Degree Requirements for specific trades

Browsing the jobs listed on forces.ca will provide you with a lot of info about degree requirements.  Most of the jobs there have the required/preferred/acceptable degrees listed in their 'qualification requirements,' so take a look there.  Or direct specific questions to a recruiter, because it...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

I'll rejoin this thread for the sake of the math conversation, and because I can add some personal experience here. Gr. 12 math is not required to get into RMC for an arts program, or at least it wasn't as of two years ago, when I did it.  That being said, you will be required to complete 2 or...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

The above quote is from a post I made about 2 weeks ago when someone posted a similar question.  In fact, every couple days, someone new comes on here and asks how good their chances are of getting into RMC. The simple truth is nobody here can tell you.  It is entirely based on how  your score...

Religion in the Canadian Forces & in Canadian Society

Reading this thread just makes me wonder what kind of services you are attending.  I've been to a remembrance day ceremony every year of my young life (father was CF and now I'm CF) and have never felt them to be religious services.  Honestly, unless your ceremonies are drastically different...

    "The" Essay (merged)

I realize this is a bit of a necro-post, but because we're into November, this thread is certainly relevant to many ROTP applicants who are writing their essays as we speak.  I saw this quoted in another thread and thought it was worth a read for any of those people, as well as some additional...
