    Medic DEU insignias

Well my unit is usually about 1 year behind the times, so I guess eventually all of us medics will look the same in uniform. But until then, we'll all look different and then get yelled at for being out of uniform. Strange cycle really.

    Medic DEU insignias

I've been reading throughout the different "medical" threads that since we medics (reserve) no longer fall under brigade commands (from our original CSS Units - not Fd Ambs), we should be removing our LFCmd pin on the pocket and our brigade patches. Can anyone enter any insight into this? Should...

Air Force Medics in Edmonton region?

I know that... but I just want to stay in the air force element, so when/if i get a chance to choose a different posting after a few years, then I want to be in the blues. I realize that even though I'd be air force, I could find myself in the trenches with PPCLI.    Thanks... i just wanted to...

    Diabetics in the CF

This question would only be able to be answered after review of the applicants medical file during her recruiting process by the RMO (Recruit Medical Officer). There are certain medical requirements for the military, each case is determined with severity of the condition and the ability to...

    Goretex Boots

The boots look good... but the minute you hit ice or any slippery surface you're going to be doing what I call the Penguin Jitterbug... taking babysteps and praying you don't land flat on your behind. They keep your feet warm if you keep moving, but if you stand still, they freeze up like hockey...

    Primary/ Supplimentary reserve

true enough... good point, I guess there are different processes and such that could make it take longer... I guess we always had good luck. No offence intended.  :)

    Primary/ Supplimentary reserve

Incorrect, a VFS does not take years to complete... I was a processing clerk at CFRC in my area and I requested them all the time for our applicants with former service... I believe the longest I waited for one was maybe a month. Its a minor thing for the unit to complete, just make sure that...

Air Force Medics in Edmonton region?

Anyone know of any air force medics ever being posted to any of the Edmonton garrison units? I'd like to go reg force medic (I'm a reserve army medic now) and I would like to request Edmonton area as one of my three choices.

    Primary/ Supplimentary reserve

Yes, as long as you don't wait to long to get back in, there is a certain time limit when your qual's will lapse. Your 404's will likely expire, but everything is kept on file. When you get back in you may even go to an increased pay rate due to raises and such... hope this helps.

    Primary/ Supplimentary reserve

Primary Reserve - is an actual Canadian Forces Reserve member, an active member who parades/trains with a unit. Supplementary Reserve - is a memeber of the CF, but is not active, holds no kit, and is on a "list" where if that person wants to get back into the CF, it is not a completely new...

Air Force Medics in 1 Fd Amb?

Hello all... I'm just wondering if there are any air force medics with 1 Fd Amb in Edmonton? I'm looking at doing a CT to the regs, and would prefer Air Force (family history), and would prefer to go to Edmonton. Let me know anyone.
