A-10 Warthogs for the CF ??

We don't have enough: a. pilots b. techs c. $$$ to support another airframe.  We seem to be having some trouble even keeping our current fleet up and running.  Besides, the CF-18 is already there for ground support (if we could afford any ordinance for it).

    Army Reserve Recruiting Trial

Space_sldr - you should re-read the original post.  This doesn't mean that your medical will be processed quicker, but rather that your file will be able to proceed before medical results return.  In short, the overall processing time for medicals will remain the same, but the Recruiting Centre...

Has anyone from DEO heard back from Borden yet?

Even if such an email address existed, you shouldn't use it.  It wouldn't be appropriate to contact Borden directly.  Contact your Recruiting Centre - they'll be able to update you.  If you aren't happy with what they're telling you, well, there's not a whole lot you can do about it except hurry...

    Army Reserve Recruiting Trial

My problem is that I'm still in the system (CIC).  You think that would make things easier (they could just look me up in Peoplesoft!), but apparently not.

    Army Reserve Recruiting Trial

My VFS took about 8 months!    :threat:   Like was said though, it must depend if you've been entered into the computer system or not.   I've got a weird combo of prior service though, so I may be a special case.   My Mom says I'm special anyway.    ;)

    Acne

Not a problem, unless it was so severe that it would somehow limit your ability to do your job (eg. wear a properly fitted gas mask).  But I've seen quite a few guys with fairly bad acne in the CF.  In fact, once you're in (assuming you're going for Reg Force) they'll even pay for a prescription...

    Uniform style

You will wear combats for the duration of your basic, as well as on almost all training nights.  Whether they're the old olive combats or the new CADPAT will depend on what unit you're in and what their supply policies are.  You are issued every piece of kit that you need (and a few that you...

Has anyone from DEO heard back from Borden yet?

An aircrew medical is just what it sounds like - a medical exam for an aircrew trade.  Not sure if any of the NCM trades invovle this (I don't think they do), but it's required for pilot or air navigator applicants.  Most people complete it at the same time they go through the Aircrew Selection...

Has anyone from DEO heard back from Borden yet?

Supposedly my file's been to Borden and back already, but the CFRC won't tell me anything until I complete my Aircrew Medical (late June).  I'm going for Air Nav, and applied in March 2003.  So that makes it 15 months and counting...

    How long for first pay?

Unless your recruiting centre puts you on leave without pay from 16-20 July, you‘ll get paid starting from the day you sign on the dotted line (16 July). I don‘t know what pay period you‘ll get in on, but you‘re smartest to be as pesimistic as possible (plan to miss 2-3 pay periods). Pay docs...

    Registered Nurse Enrolment Plan

I did a couple of courses with some people who were going through for Nurse ROTP at civy universities. They generally would be on course with the other civy univ. types (which often includes commissioned from the ranks), and, similar to the reserves, all courses ran in the summers. During the...

    Need some advice

RMC will not give you any credit for courses that you have already taken. I‘ve seen people with 2 years completed at a Civy university get kicked back to first year at RMC. Civy university under ROTP is definitely a good option (been there, done that), as would be RMC. As was said though, you...
