The Krispy Kreme glazed donut out of the oven is the best individual donut experience we've ever had by far. It is great. But other than that same donut with a chocolate glaze, the rest of their very limited selection is nothing to write home about.
Nothing can touch Timmies for atmosphere...
Currently it only takes two years to become a citizen in Australia? :o
It took me four years to get a green card in the US, then you have to wait five years to apply for citizenship, and that process can take one to two years.
Minglewood is only 50?!?! :o That means he's only 7 years older than me. He must have had a pretty hard life because when I was younger listening to him it seemed like he was 20 years older than me.
Thanks all for the fantastic walk down my music memory lane.
That was really noticeable a few years ago when I was watching the Fort Lauderdale Air Show on the beach. The Blue Angels were there and were impressive as individual aircraft with their speed and power but the precision team flying by the Snowbirds was far more interesting to me.
It was very...
How true :D I can remember as a young Lt watching a briefing from the PMO for purchasing a new tank in a Gagetown mess in 1987. These were very earnest and dedicated Majors, Captains, and maybe a LCol - not sure. (I think that's where someone mentioned Krauss-Maffei building a plant in Cape...
Try living 15 miles from the Hard Rock Cafe. Of course our local news has been beating this to death (no pun intended) since the minute it happened. Apparently nothing else of importance happened in south Florida today ::)
And Richard Dawkins was supposed to be on Paula Zahn (CNN) tonight but...
Your profile says Vancouver so I'm guessing you are with 744 Regt? Being in the same chain will mean attending O Gps and conferences and such so that so remind the Militia that you exist and raise your profile.
But I have to wonder why a unit that is in the same city as so many Militia units...
While I was at 746(Calgary) Comm Sqn, 1991-98, we supported the local Militia units a great deal and had a very good rapport with them. Note that I don't know about the situation since I've been away.
From a selfish point of view, I would hate to see the Comm Res units amalgamated into the...
Is there any reason for the 'Warning', 'C&P', and 'Banned' flashing neon signs to be put next to the members name? I'm sure the member knows their status at any given time, what is gained by broadcasting it to the entire community? Other forums I frequent don't do this. I don't recall having to...
You say that like it's a bad thing :D
Actually, as a reservist, I would think the most important thing would be work opportunities in your given field, followed by housing. So much of a persons opinion of a reserve unit is subjective and can be influenced by good/bad dealings with particular...
When did this change? I moved to the US in 98 and I could have swore Canada had the 'Cirrus' system (if I remember correctly) that allowed you to withdraw money from any of the major bank atms.
They don't do this anymore? :o
Thanks for the update. I remember back in the summer of 96 or 97 I went there for a week long fd ex and was shocked at the changes. I tried to find the small plaque a friend and I had put up on the wall at the Ocdts Mess but couldn't.
Being from the east coast when I first saw a Chilliwack map...
"Any of various forms of sexual intercourse held to be unnatural or abnormal" (one def I found) is way too vague and could include almost anything if someone wanted to get somebody. How many heteros could be slammed for this? But of course it's not heteros that would be persecuted.
To...
If only. There is a female enlisted Air Force type on another board I frequent and she remains deep in the closet to protect her career. The sodomy issue is a red herring used to justify bias against homosexuals.
That thought occured to me as well. Is it possible for a serving/former member to sue the US military in an attempt to get that reg changed given the Supreme Courts ruling in that case?
So Trudeau wasn't all bad ;)
Ideas aren't regulated, go right ahead. Just trying to see where you are coming from. I'd never seen a stance against homosexuals that didn't have some basis in religion, now I have. And I think the human species is doing a very good job at propagating itself even with a certain percentage of it...
So Canadian society is more accepting of peoples differences and tolerant?
Why would anyone be 'tolerant' of a view that is inherantly intolerant? If I said I don't want blacks in my workplace do I expect people to be tolerant of my views?
Yes, you are within your right to say what you...
