Cadpat Consensus: Was It wroth it?

Bad day Combat Medic? One problem with CaDPat is that when it wears out, and it does rather quickly, it loses alot of it properties. Once it wears out then there are limited replacement stocks. Do the reserves (ones not on tour) have the CaDPat?

    Merry Christmas! / Happy Holidays!

I was thinking about calling in some aircraft on christmas eve; opening my gifts, while laughing at my roommate, who opened his 3 weeks ago. On Christmas day I will probably work and then serve dinner.

New Indirect Fire Support Systems Needed

Jason, Many good questions. The LG 1s are viable indirect platforms, but to be used to thier maximum potential, they must have the components to be able to successfully support a light infantry Bn. (helicopters that can move the guns).

Garter Crest-Should It be Our Hatbadge?

37B, I was not really trying to make a point other than clarifing tech‘s position, at least what I believe to be tech‘s position. I do not know whether or not troop recieve thier cap badge after completing some training, or not, but that‘s what his post would seem to indicate. I do know that...

Garter Crest-Should It be Our Hatbadge?

37B, I have been told of the Garter Crest as a hat badge for the RHA, I must check in to that, because I admit it very well could be an Arty urban legend. Yes you are absolutely correct the Canadian Arty Cap badge has changed little, I believe, the Crown and the replacement of Canada with...

    Pace Sticks and Drill Canes

As most of the people commenting, are from various Cadet units and units across Canada, everyone must appreciate that there are regimental differences in the cerimonial carrying of the Drill cane or the Pace stick. It is interesting that some regimental traditions are held easier in the Cadet...

New Indirect Fire Support Systems Needed

Thank god, NATO took over the missions in the Balkans, gave gunners a chance to take our guns to theater, that and solving numerous other problems. Brock, Ref: My dislike of mortars, I guess I am kinda old fashion in the sense that I only trust what I can see. I have never seen the accuracy of...

New Indirect Fire Support Systems Needed

Please remember, Canada has deployed guns on Op Athena, however, in small quantity. Lessons were learned from UNPROFOR, and that aircraft are not always dependable as a self-defence weapon on Peace Support Operations. And up until the last few Rotos we had guns in Bosnia. That being said, I‘m...

Garter Crest-Should It be Our Hatbadge?

Traditionally, the Royal Horse Artillery wears the Garter crest on thier beret. Since in Canada, the RCHA / RALC are the only operational units which are regular force, it would make sense that we had different hat badge. Getting the dark navy blue beret, would be good, but at the very least...

The way JUNIOR--junior NCM‘s are treated

Old School, that is definately a motivation tool. Let me clarify things, yelling, as I have mentioned previously, is NOT the act of telling soldiers in a direct and concise manner to accomplish a task with a level of volume to be heard (i.e. so that the subordinate does not have to stuggle to...

Nov 2003: Canadian spy probe crashes in Afghanistan

Garry Said, "It was made in France- sure it just didn‘t do what it was made to do?" No Garry, in that case it would have turned around to land at the nearest German camp to surrender itself.

The way JUNIOR--junior NCM‘s are treated

I have raised my voice once, I was very junior and very angry. Since then I can honestly say that I have not had any problems getting things done. I have been yelled at, and it only motivated me to a certain extent (enough so I didn‘t get yelled at again). However, explaining things to me in a...

The way JUNIOR--junior NCM‘s are treated

Sheila, maybe the yelling is the result of not knowing the job? Supervisors may be frustrated and lack knowledge wrt the changes and amagamation of your trade. Just an idea. But your job requires alot of self-learning, you can help yourself alot by prempting the yelling. Find a Cpl that you can...
