So that explains why when I went to exchange my helmet before tour, I got a puzzled look from the supply tech who informed me that my initial issue was only in Nov 08 ::), when it was actually in 02.

I am on skype once a week from the FOB. bring a laptop, IPod, and a PSP/DS if you will be in the FOBS (you can swap games with your friends).  My FOB has wireless, but it is down quite frequently  ::), the welfare computers suck, and the networks guys recommend that you plug your own laptop in...

Well I got to wear it once, and I love it.  Too bad I can't wear it again due to the COC thinking that it burns at a lower tempture then cotton ::)  But non issued rigs are a go  ;D, so I can't bitch about it  ::)

well basically all issued kit, plus a laptop in a pelican case.

He can blow his tour money on it  ;D

It can also easily hold 200 lbs of kit  ::)  I had fun humping my 125 lbs ruck  ::) (read my last post on why it was so heavy) on the chopper a week and a bit ago.

I would also recommend separate from the vest as well.  i have tried every way of caring a hydro pack attached to the tac vest (including using the hooks on the issued one), and have found it is better kept separate. Here are a couple of reasons: 1. filling (quite frequent were I am now  ;D)...

well, just finished packing my patrol pack, transferred all the stuff from my Tac Vest to the one I will be using, and now cleaning my rifle (more like wiping it down, as I can't use CLP in this environment).

Trying to email pictures home.  An easy task, but the wireless in the FOB is slow keeps cutting it out (I'm thankful we have it tho  ;D)

I'm currently reading Brotherhoods of war by W.E.B. Griffin.  I just randomly grabbed at the KAF PX before heading to the FOB.

Well I have a good thing to say about the new ruck, its great for packing all the things you need for up to 2 weeks in a fob before your kit arrives  ::)

I'll be around the board walk (or around camp somewhere) time tonight. I'll be wearing shorts and t shirt with Oakleys and a blue ball cap, carrying a long gun.

Is there going to be one a few days later?

Or I can just do what mine looks like, the same as all other members of my section.  Only difference is name and position in the section  ::)
