If you're going LdSH(RC), you'll get qualified Leopard, and if you're going RCD or 12eRBC you'll be qualified on the Coyote. I've been in 8 yrs and I'm STILL trying to get qualified LAV III.
The school isn't using civilians to teach LAV, it's still black hatters doing the teaching. Right now the civie company is teaching the B vehicles (LSVW,MLVW) and right now they are only teaching reservists.
It might have been when it was still called QL3. I'm in the same boat as reccecrewman, when I joined 8yrs ago I asked for RCD and they sent me out west.
There's a 2005 CANFORGEN out that talks about where certain thngs can be worn. Fleece is only to be worn as an outer garment in the field. In the same CANFORGEN it says that the desert boots are not authorised footwear in Canada, not even in the field. :crybaby:
Besides the R de Hull, the nearest reserve armoured regts to Ottawa are the Ont Rs in Oshawa and RCH in Mtl. There is a Svc Bn, a Med Coy, an Engineer Sqn and Arty in Ottawa
When my course did a tour of DB they told us that officers and NCM's are segregated.NCM's on the first floor and officers on the second. I don't know if it's the same in the new DB though.
