    Continental Defence Corvette

Your assumption is probably correct. But with the CDC's crew being about 90 to 100 in peacetime in my scenario, and about 180 to 200 in wartime, the AOPS would probably just back-fill the reg force needed for my scenario to work out, not much more.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Just a stupid question from an ignoramus: For people who know only: Which plane would be better as a drone interceptor? No details necessary, just your informed conclusion please.

    Continental Defence Corvette

A lot will depend on CONOPS for those ships, which must start with some thinking about how the RCN envisage use of those vessels, and how "expendable" they see them. Twenty of them on top of 15 RCD and 12 SSK requires a lot of personnel, even if all three streams will be building up over time...

Canada to Spend $5.0Bil on AEW Aircraft (Saab Globaleye)

You can pronounce it the English way: "bombardeer". They'd love it: it even sounds more warlike than Boeing. Similarly "Globaleye" = scarry, Wedgetail = it's just a bird.

    Replacing the Subs

None of this is correct. First of all, the F-14 was not on offer, and is a carrier borne fighter also, so same "weight" problem you allege as the F-18. The F-14 was simply not in production anymore - the US navy having moved on to the F-18. As for the F-15, it was also not on offer. The...

But it doesn't lead to a hangar for the helo. If they have room in the specs displacement to make it big enough to land a Cyclone in an emergency, I can't blame them for that.

    Continental Defence Corvette

Looks like it's using a SPY radar as its main radar. I am not sure that meets the "made in Canada" criteria that is meant to move us away from the US for that specific ship type. I would have expected a European radar, either a SMART or a Thales NS110 type radar.

The best thing that could come out of the end of the "Asterix" leasing contract is the creation of a CFAV "supply" side.

RCN Not Hiring New Reserve NWO

That is incorrect. And it cannot even be correct chronologically: The Orca's were built and entered service seven years AFTER the last MCDV commissioned, and the MCDV were, until taken over by the reg force about five (not sure the exact time anymore) years ago, manned by naval reservists, so...

RCN Not Hiring New Reserve NWO

That, of course, is an entirely Reg force created problem: When the RCN decided that every body had to be trained to be a full Bridge Watch-keeping Officer, as opposed to being OK with Minor Warship Watch-keeper, it created a stream where reservists, being mostly available for four months a...

Canada to Spend $5.0Bil on AEW Aircraft (Saab Globaleye)

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Oh! Wait! You was serious!!! There's traffic in Ottawa too, if you've ever been there at rush hour. In Toronto there is traffic because of the volume of vehicles. in Ottawa, there is traffic because the friggin' road system was designed by a four year old doing...

AOR Replacement & the Joint Support Ship (Merged Threads)

No they don't. These are the solid support ships. Their primary function is to supply the aircraft carriers strike group with all their needs other than fuel. They travel with the group.

You can't see the sword, it's in front of him. But in the RCN, we wear the belt under our tunics and behind his left leg, you can see the lanyard looping back to the front. That can only be a sword belt lanyard. And Furniture is right, the RCN did sail with small bands on foreign deployments...
