The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

OGBD, two reasons, 1) it is the only foreign aircraft to have integrated into operations on a USN CVN so the U.S. in no way can complain that Canada can’t *interoperate with the U.S.; and 2) it keeps the fine tradition of Canada buying twin-engine carrier borne aircraft as it’s front line fighter. 😃

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

KevinB, yeah you got it right, both MADL and IFDL are LPI/LPD (detection) datalinks using high-gain, very low noise, electronically steerable active-array antennas and Link 16/TADIL J/MIDS is CC:world broad ‘who’s out there, here’s what we’re all doing, type ‘link’…it’s more akin to a party line...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Awesome, voice via the “not-so-stealthy” pod. 😆 Heck, we should maybe augment our RQ-9Bs with RQ-4s to help future F-35s to talk with NORAD F-22s. 😉

Especially given the Dutch midfielder who got his scalp stitched up on the pitch and kept playing.

Joe Rogan and Pierre Poilievre interview

Doug Ford is still Bluer than Mark Carney, though, so there’s that in the ‘who’s Bluer than the next guy’ debate.

    Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

@ArmyRick, that’s a good list, most of which I totally agree with. I would also add getting tough on foreign interference, which goes back to my point about many, and certainly my own critique about Mark Carney. That should be very high up on the list of things to get done asap.

    Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

Well, if you had actually listened to what many of us have been saying about Carney, is that many of us still hold judgement on him regarding the proximal influence of China, particularly ongoing foreign interference, the likes of CCP’s United Fromt Work Department activity in Canada, including...

    Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

Your bucket of crabs analogies get tiring. We get it. Until Poilievre is PM, you won’t be happy. That is your right and choice.

    Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

I was until Harper reneged on his deal with MacKay. Old PC’ers are not well represented these days…except perhaps by PMMC. Poilievre was certainly not the best as my MP. The difference (increase) in support to infrastructure alone is notable. Ottawa-Carletonians are better off (at least to...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

The F35 doesn’t even talk directly to the F-22 Raptor…it needs U-2s or Bombardier Global Express E-11 BACN Battlefield Airborne Command Node aircraft (yup same aircraft as SAAB GlobalEye) to translate between the F-35’s MADL datalink and the F-22’s IFDL In Flight Data Link system. Not with the...

    Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

Imagine if the LotO was moved out of Stornaway to make room for the PM while the repairs were being conducted. 😮 Like the expansive 10 Downing St? (Not to be confused with 8 or 12 Downing St) of that place on the that out of way cart path, I’m…Pennsylvania Ave.?

3 VP CO & RSM relieved of duty

SKT, I found that *DAOD 5019 was my go to. It’s on their file, supports follow-on action if needed, otherwise the ineffectuality of the ST/MC mash was way more squeeze than the juice it made. Get a few folks out on remedial measures and the word gets out…slow and by the book is eventually going...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Sadly…lol…there wasn’t a “disappointed but not surprised” emoji…that was the closest to the sentiment. Seems like the JPO was perhaps a bit fast and loose with the support capability integrated into the Program’s plan from the outset. I recall something like 3,000 aircraft being a goal of the...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Maybe the RCAF should consider forming numerous small detachments of 3-6 aircraft ‘Squadrons’ across the country flying F-35 and Gripen, each one run by a LCol? 15-20 Air Reserve squadrons should work to keep from burdening the regular RCAF fighter squadrons.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

Block 70 Vipers do nothing for Canada’s goal of increasing European aerospace capacity. It has SFA to do with ‘Elbows Up.’ It has to do with Canada leveraging unused domestic capacity to reinforce Europe’s maxed-out capacity.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

If Canada buys 88 F35s, America would be foolish to block the ITAR-controlled version of the Gripen to Canada (or Ukraine, or…) as it would keep money from rolling into General Electric and Raytheon/Collins and signal to the world that it prefers a BRIC nation (Brazil) as a defense partner to...
