I dunno. Sometimes RFI go out and then they rewrite them after initial feedback (which probably says something like "are you @#$%ing nuts?").
We saw that with the RFI for the Indirect Fire Modernization (some minor modifications were made) and CPSP RFI.
The only things that match in any current system is the Lynx / KF54 Pather combo (same digital architecture, sensors and optics). There is no currently matching powerpack of suspension between tank/IFV that I'm aware of. Even the K2 and Redback are different despite the engines being made at...
There may be a story behind that Narwhal.
I was told that during their circumnavigation and NWP voyage, they sailed into a Inuit communities bay. When they came in a whole pod of harwhals came with them. The locals were evidently excited and immediately went on the hunt. Rifle rounds were...
Whaterver the tracked IFV is going to be there likely won't be any "I" in it, as they will be the purview of the MCAV regiments only. Of course I'm told in ancient history Armour had assault troops but I don't think those are a thing anymore.
Anything is possible and perhaps as the MCAV units...
Isn't the Lynx competing in the MICV competition as well?
The RFI will also create some interesting team ups, I would not be surprised if say team CV90 combines forces with team Leopard. The timeline is long enough.
That being said they may just end up breaking these two into separate parts...
I have some very serious reservations with him as Vice. We'll have to see as things go forward if some of that gets tempered being exposed to the whole enchilada.
Germany will overtake someone shortly. They are ramping up as well.
Doubtful. Always something built somewhere else. We're in a globalized economy still. Unless everything legitimately breaks down we'll never produce our own "X" component. We don't make our own computer chips for example, and...
This feels a lot like the National Shipbuilding Strategy. A continuous build program with evolutionary changes as lessons are learned and fed back into the design --> product cycle. Never stop producing at a particular rate so the industry has stability and skills don't fade.
Then you can...
100%. There are plenty of valid criticisms of the Asterix program from start to finish. But I've posted other places this same thought. Asterix did what it said on the tin, and did what we asked her to do. She was a gas station and training facility for us, and kept us in the globally...
The budget change was announced on a Tuesday. On Monday I had asked about our TD budget and was told it was basically zero for the rest of the month. On Thurs my boss knocked on my office door and told me the TD budget was "for all intents and purposes is unlimited now" and the plan was a go...
