A Little Comedy for you all- "Liberian Marksmanship"

I've heard a figure that during the Vietname war, there was a ratio of 250 rounds per casualty. I'm guessing that at the battle of Monrovia, probably 2500 to 1... At least here is clear evidence of the effect of rap culture on society. Armies fighting with slinkees coming out of Kalishnikovs...

    Making a movie in Morocco

You will have to upload them on to the internet. I am no hacker, and therefore cannot view the contents of your hard-drive. Sounds neat, though... :)

What would you do if this was your kid?

You never know what will happen... he has another nine years before (I expect) his parents toss him out on his arse. That's a long time, and much can happen to a person. My solution would be to go camping out in the middle of nowhere, give him his own tent, and let him go about his own business...

Irritations of this Season of Peace

Wasn't the winter solstice December 21st this year? I remember it was 10 degrees outside and I celebrated by wearing a Hawaiian shirt and one of those sea-shell necklaces. Good ole tropical day on the prairies.

Irritations of this Season of Peace

Having weathered the Christmas shopping season at Superstore, (thanks to a lax sched), I've observed the following. 1. From December 1st to 24th (no work on Christmas), Christmas "music" will be played non-stop. Not Christmas carols, but "music". Carols I have a respect for, they are at least...

What would you do if this was your kid?

Something sneaky would be to go down to the rumpus room and deactivate the breaker to his bedroom or locale of xbox. When the kid comes out and claims there was a power failure (or something), make the most menacing "Indeed". Could blame it on the Nintendofairy.

War Museum Controversy and Follow-up Thread [merged]

My family's visit was similar - we had to rush through the cold war to leave (we had places to be, etc.). Didn't stop us from the gift shop though - which is somewhat overpriced, so be wary of your purchases. Books are good, they respect the suggested retail, but the miniatures can be had for...

    War Games

What GW armies do you have anyway, Danjanou? I've got Wood Elves and Eldar. I've also some FOW Italians. You play FOW, too, Cpl. Dorosh?

Christmas Traditions and Political Correctness Gone Awild

My family was going about looking at other folk's Christmas Lights, and I noticed that my when we passed the homes of two Iranian friends, one had a Christmas tree in his living room, and the other had Christmas lights up. That is diversity. Let us celebrate culture, rather than repress it...

    War Games

I have a copy of The Operation Art of War. I love the scenario editor - I've made some truly stupid battles with that thing. I found it a pawn shop - I imagine that would be a good place to find a copy, but I've only seen it for sale once. Sorry, but I'm not willing to give it up quite yet...

Christmas Traditions and Political Correctness Gone Awild

Aye, I clapped, and the dinner was fantastic - I don't think anyone finished their servings, though, as far as I could tell, but one of the officers. The pipers were amazing, too. I hear you're a piper? Good times. Quite a start for my own military career.

    Dragon Models Action Figures

I own one of the limited edition LDSH figures Mr. Dumitt made for the regiment's 100th anniversary. Cost $40 at the War Museum. Ceremonial dress, mounted, though.

    Dragon Models Action Figures

I have Dragon's Algonquin Regiment WW2 figures. They're pretty well done by Dragon, among the worst done by me!!

I also prefer the Maple Leaf Forever to O Canada.

Christmas Traditions and Political Correctness Gone Awild

I've found that all this PC nonsense is not the result of pressure from immigrant groups, but rather a caste of completely out of touch high class caucasians. Case in point - the muslim immigrants at the superstore switched to green and red head scarfs a few weeks back, and have been wearing...

Electoral Reform (Senate, Commons, & Gov Gen)

Since there's an election going on, I thought it might be appropriate to put forward my idea for an elected senate. I think it would be an excellent step in the reforming of our government structure, which seems to be driving more and more folks bonkers (the west wants in, etc.) However, I also...

What are you listening to/fav type of music

La Villa Strangiato - Rush. (The Trees has my favourite guitar solo) Soon will be listening to a tender ballad of love by Spinal Tap. >:D

France-Canada to revive Atlantic battle for seafloor

We have the Estai http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbot_War I was wondering though, about air superiority, wouldn't a CF-18 from Newfoundland be within flying range of a French fleet in the west Atlantic? Addendum: I'm a dumbass for comparing the Estai to the Rainbow Warrior.

Government Falls! The 2006 election thread

I too want the Conservatives to win, and I'm a centrist. I really don't like any of the parties, but I feel a balance has to be restored, certain parties cleansed, and certain people made happy. However, if I had a choice, which I don't - I would vote Infanteer '06. SPOILED BALLOTS BE DAMNED!!!

Government Falls! The 2006 election thread

I think that the only party that's going to benefit from this is the Bloc. It'll probably be status quo elsewhere. A slimmed liberal minority, I predict.
