    Police Folk Allegedly Behaving Badly

I'm not. This is just the latest in a parade of issues from a Chief on down as well as their governance spanning the past several years.

High Speed Train Coming?-split from boosting Canada’s military spending"

Quite possibly. With my memory these days it's hard to recall what I posted this morning. The only point I was trying to make was that any public work that requires land that the government (or government-backed consortium) doesn't already own is inevitably going to require an 'eminent domain'...

    Pipelines, energy and natural resources

Well, maybe if they build pipelines without having corporate customers on board, maybe they can harness the wind whistling through them.

    Liberal (Minority/Majority) Government 2025 - ???

I don't know about ports but you do realize that with airports, the federal government is just the landlord. Major airports are already operated by non-profit authorities.

High Speed Train Coming?-split from boosting Canada’s military spending"

Maybe in stretches, and depending on the terrain. Some of those old lines looked like they were surveyed by wounding a moose then following it. Passengers trains of old often had better times than today for a number of reason. Passenger trains were money makers - until they weren't, and...

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

If it took the immediate threat of WWII to get the Danes motivated, how motivated do you think 300,000 Canadians would be right now? Without facilities, infrastructure, training, organization, hierarchy, etc. 300,000 names on paper sounds about as useful as an Alberta petition

High Speed Train Coming?-split from boosting Canada’s military spending"

I have no dog in the hunt and will likely never see it or ride it (aka: I don't really care), but so goes every public infrastructure. I can't argue whether or not it is money well spent, but probably every highway, road widening, forces base or water treatment plant was built on land somebody...

    Trump administration 2024-2028

Like on a loop, but there are all sorts of wacky and off-the-cuff** soundbites they can use. **Or, according to his fans, wise and considered pronouncements.

    Ontario Government (Conservative majority), 2025-29

I was being sarcastic but, you are right in the sense that any opposition party that shows itself to be a credible government-in-waiting would take a bite out of the Conservatives. Their brand is getting long in the tooth, but the alternatives currently don't look too promising.

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

Thankfully, Ontario and Quebec would be left out of this silliness. It seems there are a grand total of 12 RCMP detachments in Ontario. So is Service Canada. You seem to think that "community service" is some generic, all-encompassing, one-dimensional set of deliverables. Every government...

Under him, the party would do really well in farm country ridings that rely on TFWs.

    2025 U.S. - Venezuela conflict

Well, to the '51st' title anyway. He doesn't need to make them a state to allow US corporations to bleed them dry - just a territory. Similar to what they would do to Alberta.

It would be interesting to know the 'flow' of shop teachers in today's system. Are they accredited ('regular') teachers who took a course or two for further accreditation, with or without some inherent interest and skills, or did they come from industry and jumped through the regulatory hoops...

Sexual Assault & Sexual Misconduct in the CF

Less so in the medical field. Most doctors with practices are considered self-employed. They form registered companies primarily for tax and liability purposes. I imagine sole practitioner lawyers are the same.

Sexual Assault & Sexual Misconduct in the CF

The way I read Stillman it didn't directly speak to 11(f) in terms of an accused's right to a jury trial but I could have missed it. I just don't think a system that changes an accused's legal jeopardy on the whim of a victim could be justified. I took a very quick at Arbour's Recommendation...
