I suspect the October 29 courses are the last ones for 2012, since the CFLRS closes for the holidays for about three weeks between mid-December and early January. A course starting on December 3rd would mean you'll get a 3-week Christmas leave barely two weeks into the course... Wouldn't make sense.

I'm starting on the 27th as well (to be accurate, we report on the 27th but the course officially starts on the 29th), for infantry officer. I'm on a Francophone platoon though. Are you?

Another option, may I suggest you consider, is to join the Reserves. You'll still be able to stay by your mother's side and take care of her while gaining valuable military experience for yourself. Regardless, it won't hurt to go see a recruiter ASAP.

Thanks Waters81. From what I know, I was among the lucky 5 selected for Inf O in the last selection which supposedly happened this week. For Infantry NCM however, the demand is much higher and the next selection will take place in August. All the best!

The dates seem correct. I just got offered Infantry Officer DEO this afternoon with BMOQ (French) starting on October 29th 2012.

Hi all, I just got the call from my RC informing me that I have been selected for Infantry Officer. My BMOQ is to start on October 29th, 2012. Anyone else?

Aren't they just choosing from the existing merit list top down? Just asking.

Quick heads up people: I had a little phone chat with my RC this morning and was told that the selection for Infantry Officer is to take place next Monday, June 11th. If it's still just 3 DEO spots, I reckon it won't take too long. Good luck to all concerned.

I'm laughing tragically right now looking at those numbers... considering I'm in for the Van Doos, my chances are probably even slimmer as they'll have to fit me into a French platoon, god knows when that'll pop up.
