    Next Selection Board?

BrockVegas, don't worry about it. The selection for 031 is done weekly and because we are short on staff as BC mentionned it may take a little longer. CFLRS hold BMQs year round so you'll likely get a call in the next couple of weeks to tell you to get packing... Good luck. BC, how many days...

    Tac Flying, Kiowa Style.

Loachman, I cringe  :rules: when I read stuff like I could fly under something that high. Usually pictures start coming out and I'm afraid I'll be on one or two. 8)

    2.4 Kilometer run times.

No matter how much we tell em to get fit before going to St-Jean, most of them think they can pass on gut-check alone. Sometimes I have applicants pump push-ups in my office to show them what to expect.  ;D You should see the look on their faces.  :o

Second Language Training ( SLT )

SLT during DP1 for Anglo and Franco officers is limitted to Legal O, PAO and Social Worker. Franco Officers must have SLT in fol MOSIDs: AEC, AERE, AF ENGR, ANAV, CELE (Air), PLT, SIGS, MARS, MS ENG, NCS EMG, BIO, NUR and some CHAP. SLT for NCMs is not mandatory and would only be provided if...

    2.4 Kilometer run times.

PSP, don't want to highjack here but speaking of push-ups, is there a new directive coming from Ottawa? The staff in St-Jean and my own base are getting a little anal about 90 deg flex. They fail people who would make good soldiers because they have a think chest and can't bend elbows to 90 deg...

Second Language Training ( SLT )

Maybe it will be taken later but as of last week, it is a MOSID that requires SLT for both Anglos and Francos so we must tell new enrolees that they can plan for up to 33 weeks of SLT sometime after IAP/BOTP.

+1 I like your analogy. There is a reason for everything even if we sometimes think it's stupid.

    Running

St-Jean and Farnham are pretty much flat bases so you're good to go. :salute: ROTP selection is early Feb and yes you would do a summer IAP/BOTP. Be carefull about Civy U, you tend to do a lot of bicep curl with the guys at the local Pub and the training goes out the window unlike RMC where you...

    recent cfat and interview.

The test is actually based on grade 10 level education. The problem is most people flush the stuff from their brains as soon as they've graduated. Practice calculus/algebra, some websites have motorskills test for spatial awareness and the verbal skills,...well that one is just simply hard...

Can you identify this for me?

    Yea! And that too. :)

Can you identify this for me?

Strike, I thought you meant any idea what they were doing around Kingston. You'd be suprised how many CF pilotes outside the Fighter community don't know what we do for NORAD. Did not mean to ruffle your feathers bud. Ex Faucon???

    Running

Dave glad to hear you applied and good luck. Timeline wise, you are probably looking at a January IAP if all else goes through in time and you make the fall Officer selection. Running in the winter is awesome but can be dangerous if icy. Get some rubber grips from Running Room or similar store...

    Running

Johnny5, regardless of the shoe though if you change your running environment e.g. flat to hills you will likely experience soreness in your ankles and legs. That's why you should vary where you run so you get used to all types of terrain. Stay away from concrete road if you want to keep your...

"What if??" A thread for people who like to speculate

The Russians have fuelled the Bears and are flying again with the Chinese on major Exercises. Don't know why they are using those huge missile sponges anymore but they still carry a big load that can do some serious damage. Providing they can pass through our amazing NORAD defence.  ;)

    Camp Bold Eagle

maclaine, I'm glad you decided to join and post since you are the SME for Bold Eagle. The Raven program is pretty much the equivalent of Bold Eagle and they are both Reserve Entry programs. In some communities the Bold Eagle and Raven course will grant P Res BMQ equivalent. Not always though...

Second Language Training ( SLT )

Wow! Must be a new officer occupation ''Poilets''. What background do you need for this one? New one came out yesterday. PAO is also mandatory SLT.

anyone else have to gain weight?

When I did my BMQ I was 5'8 and 155 - 165lbs. Stayed at that weight and hauld my sh...for about 10 years but then I decided to gain some mass. Now I'm 5'7 3/4 (age!!!) and 195lbs with 33 waist. Running

Keep the pace up and 6K in 30 mins is not bad. You probably won't need to get faster for BMQ but you'll need the endurance. I tell people that if they are starting to run, the Running Room has great running clinics and they actually teach a run/walk program. I got my wife and kids to run...
