I would actually hazard a guess and say the CAF is probably the only organization in the country that doesnt begin pistol training with the pistol in the holster, to include the load ready drill ending with a return to holster.

the Commonwealth Prime Ministers Conference decided to drop the title of Dominion in 1949. That supersedes the 1867 act. Its been moved on from, is no longer in use, and holds 0 meaning legally or culturally.

"Dominion" has be scrapped from Federal law since 1951 and it stopped being relevant in 1931. The last piece of it all died with Canada Day was officially renamed in 1982. It doesnt appear in law, or the constituation here or in Britain. The UK refers to Canada as a Realm of the Commonwealth.
