Glass half full: alot of First Nations are turning into really good, satble, economic generators for regions formerly reliant on the swings and roundabouts of the mercurial commodity markets.

The concept of a 'collective' approach to advocacy on the part of all First Nations in BC, all for the common good, is a myth. In many cases, each band would happily throw their peers under the bus to gain an advantge of some kind. They've learned alot from us ;)

What we're seeing is exactly that in action. Over time, BC has significantly upgraded its response capabilities as a result of several years of big, bad fires. Now we just have to wean the CAF off of the 'rescue junkie' limelight adrenaline pump. ;)
