    Not criminally responsible

The issue (to me anyways) should be about choices made that inevitably led up to some of these crimes being committed - in Vince Li's case, he (like many other people with schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders) chose to stop taking his meds - either the background voices were telling him to...

    Alberta Paramedics

The stations I've worked at under ISC have the odd NP, usually a mix of expanded scope RN's and non-expanded ones, along with paramedics, PA's like me and docs that rotated in for 1-2 weeks at a time. Last couple places I worked at had no hospital - we'd either transfer to Winnipeg or Thompson...

    Alberta Paramedics

I had a newly minted MO that couldn't get his Capt's promotion because he trained in Quebec and, despite having his CCFP, couldn't qualify for a license there because their qualification exam has one of the highest failure rates in the country on the first try...he had to apply for a license in...

    Alberta Paramedics

I meant moonlighting in paramedicine outside of the 911 system...though I've met many paramedics that were combat or other arms reservists over the years, just to do something different for work/life balance...and bring added life experience to their other jobs

You mean unless they decide to moonlight elsewhere or quit to work elsewhere?

    Alberta Paramedics

Do they still go with the "AEMCA" designation in Ontario and then once you're working call you a Paramedic, even if you went through a paramedic program in an Ontario College? That was still a thing when I was posted in Kingston in the late 90's... The folks I work(ed) with in Northern MB...

    Alberta Paramedics

Not everyone who works in paramedicine does work for a 911 system though - many work in industrial sites, we have them working in nursing stations in northern Manitoba helping in the ED or doing dressing changes or screening patients - none on ambulance though, except for the places that...

Area MP wants Vernon cadet camp to become full-time CAF base

Interesting...I did SYEP at the ARTC on the other side of the highway/up the hill from the Cadet Camp in 1986, and also worked at the Reserve MIR in 1988. They'd need to likely revamp a lot of stuff, add a decent training area as well - was pretty small IIRC AND when I was there last time...

Why does Canada suck at telling its own stories

I saw an Aussie documentary on the Battle of Kapyong, since they were holding the opposite side of the valley (and were forced to withdraw) that had a short blurb from the Canadian perspective...I think an actual movie, NOT a la Passhendale or Hyena Road, about that would be a good start. Frig...
